Ingebrigtsen Family Update
The eldest Ingebrigtsen son has gone public to Norway's largest newspaper Aftenposten with some of the details of the alleged abuse Gjert inflicted on his children. Even though the statute of limitations has passed on many of the alleged crimes, Kristoffer wants the world to know what happened as he feels like Gjert has been "allowed to set the terms" of their separation. "It's still good that people know. When Gjert is hyped up as a God in all directions, as he was for a while, he in some ways only gets worse."
The Diamond League Puts Its Foot Down
According to multiple sources, Diamond League CEO Petr Stastny announced today at the technical meeting for the Weltklasse Zurich meet that Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will not be allowed to compete in the two Diamond League finals next week as she's not eligible since she didn't compete in any regular season DL meets. Meet organizers are contemplating having her run in the pre-program presumably against less-than-stellar competition.

Terrible News From Kenya
Cheptegei suffered burns on more than 75% of her body when her boyfriend doused her in gasoline and set her on fire. The two were apparently arguing over a piece of land Cheptegei bought. Cheptegei finished 44th in the marathon in Paris and won gold at the World Mountain and Trail Championships in 2022.

Before Halvorsen's victory in the 3000, no non-African-born man had ever won a flat distance race at World U20s. After Spain's Jon Azkueta won gold in the 2k steeple in the first World Jrs in 1986, an African-born man had won 73 straight men's distance events.
The SEC indoor mile and outdoor 1500 champ has tested positive for EPO. We'd never seen an Indian mid-d runner with such an amazing kick and now it all appears to good to be true.

- Heptathlon Will Come Down To 800m With Defending Champ Nafissatou Thiam Of Belgium Leading GB's Katarina Johnson-Thompson Thiam is up by 121 points so Johnson-Thompson will have to run 8 seconds faster than Thiam in the 800m. Johnson-Thompson's PB is 2:05.63 and Thiam's is 2:11.79.

- Day 1: Katarina Johnson-Thompson Takes Early Heptathlon Lead After 1.92m High Jump
SML did it again with WR #6, running 50.37 to win the 400 hurdles as Femke Bol got bronze. Letsile Tebogo ripped a 19.46 for 200m gold as a COVID-stricken Noah Lyles was 3rd.
- USA's Tara Davis-Woodhall Wins Long Jump Gold With 7.10m She beat out Germany's defending champ Malaika Mihambo (6.98m) while US's Jasmine Moore won her second Paris 2024 bronze medal with 6.96m (she also won bronze in the TJ).
- Arshad Nadeem Wins Javelin Gold To Bring Pakistan Its First Olympic Track Medal He threw 92.97m to set an Olympic record and put himself #6 on the all-time list. Defending champion and world champion Neeraj Chopra took silver with 89.45m and Grenada's Anderson Peters bronze (88.54m).
