Ha, just seeing that guy's post. I hope Hobbs is feeling great on Sunday because he did go very hard through 1300 in Lausanne. Up front this thing should be in the 1:41s if not 1:40s so a great chance to come up through the field and run 1:42 or 1:43 low who knows?
I had mentioned this a couple of days ago and got ridiculed by some shameless cretin!! Lol

What do you guys think about Kessler getting in the way of Hocker at Lausanne?
Hear me out. I know Kessler is entitled to race the way he wants to race, and maybe he raced in a manner that gave him the best chances of finishing as fast as possible. But in doing so, he became an effective obstruction to Hocker.
Kessler doesn’t have the fitness yet to compete with Jakob, and he slowly fell back, widening their gap. That resulted in Hocker getting too disengaged from Jakob.
Sure, you can mind-numbingly argue, “Hocker should have been faster and gone around,” if you choose to ignore or discount the point I’m making.
Has anyone mentioned this yet?
Also, is THOUGHTSLEADER the handle chosen by J.Gault?

I think that hobbs should aim to be the first man with a bowl cut to run 1:42. Could be really big for his brand

Maybe hocker should try to race from the front even once in his life
Kessler did make a fairly strong move early to get on jakobs shoulder, but it’s nothing cole couldn’t have also done

he's not winning like Jakob Ingebrigtsen, but his effortless stride (doesn't look hard but I know it is) and form are beautiful thing to see, hope someday it results in medals.
Yeah. Hocker was through 1200 faster in that race than in the Olympic final. He was where he was comfortable, and then he was uncomfortable as it’s been a crazy two weeks I’m sure.
And no I’m not Jon Gault. I’ll take that as a high compliment though.

Nah - Hocker has said himself, he does better in tactical races. He tried to use Kessler as a pacemaker & sit behind him saving energy & therefore missed the beat when Jakob surged. At the Olympics he was fortunate to have the likes of Kerr, Nguse & Cheruiyot to sit behind, who could all keep up the pace with Jakob, therefore, when the break came, he was right there & could capitalise on it.
Incidentally, Jakob's winning time in this race still wouldn't have got him on the podium in Paris.
In my opinion Kessler did not get in the way of Cole. Kessler just ran out of gas and Cole was not paying attention. Cole should have been on Hobbs right shoulder so he could see in case Jacob took off (In my opinion).

Nuanced stat, but interesting, other than Burgin who ran within .23 of his PB, Kessler was next closest to his at .33, so, I think a solid effort. That's 3 times under 1:44.00 when his previous PR coming into this year was above 1:45.00. Probably holding on by a thread fitness wise..LOL

Kessler ran quite well. If you look at that race, most of the guys coming back besides Arop were quite obviously fatigued. Arop I think is both in supreme form and had such a bizarre go at it in Lausanne that he left a little more for this race than the other guys including Wanyonyi, Tual, Hoppel, Kessler.
Solid result for Kessler, but Marco owned that field today. WR in the Diamond League final?
Expect Arop and Wanyonyi to go for that. Wanyonyi has been hitting 49.95 almost on the money, but he might up the speed a bit. It’ll be interesting who leads at 400.
