It was the way the sport has been going.

The room isn't dirty because someone saw dirt on the floor, it is dirty because it haven't been cleaned.
So its a good thing, not a bad thing that people ends up getting bans. Lets wish that there will be implemented proper anti doping measures (say a certain number of tests, per month, for the past x months/years to be able to compete in WC/Olympics).
She should be the gold medal as well

6 out of 9 caught, that is a not so bad ratio :)
Bad news for the cheaters, they get caught more often now. Take care suckers.
I'd say the 2003 10k 13:51/12:49 was the dirtiest race ever
You didn't notice the story in the Guardian has just been published. Of course it isn't the first time there have been news stories about that race.
It is one of the few races in which most of the dopers may have been caught. But it won't be the exception. Runners now know more about how not to get caught. It will probably have been the norm in Paris.
As if NOP-er (doper????) Rowbury was "clean" herself; she just got away with it like the majority of US athletes. It's always about pointing fingers to the boogeyman "bad guy" Russia, while clutching the bible proclaiming sainthood to the Lances and Marions... Americans will be, well, 'muricans - till they can' t.
The 2 Turk gals were so plainly sketchy. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Bekele’s last 5k was 12:57, not 12:49.
Yea, they were oozing. The winner gal was already banned as a Junior. She just upped her game shamelessly later on, but failed.
So do i. I remember thinking they both looked manly, and covered in acne.
It's inspiring to see the way the current set of elite athletes have put track's sordid past behind them and figured out a way to run faster than ever without the need for PEDs. Maybe athletes of today are just more determined and strong-willed than those of the past?
Thank you Armstronglivs, and to The Guardian, for putting "dirtiest race in history" in quotation marks as that phrase was coined by Richard Moore as the title of his book on the 1988 men's 100m final. But yes, the depth of positive test from the 2012 women's 1500m is just stupid.
Moore, Richard. The Dirtiest Race in History: Ben Johnson, Carl Lewis and the 1988 Olympic 100m Final. Wisden Sports Writing, 2012.
hello Richard Moore, I hope sales of your book are doing well.
nope, just a collector and historian
This race is exhibit A in just how powerful and game changing these drugs are. This is a lesson that Ma's army should have already taught us, that these drugs can turn decent runners into Olympic champions.
Pretty sure there were any number of global finals in the EPO era at least as dirty. If only they could still retest the samples from back then.
link to actual race video, so weird to wonder what they were thinking and the post-race reactions
the olympics .com highlights video even has post-race mini interviews
