Parker and Parvej's training programs are probably completely different... I wonder how many times they've even had a conversation.

Regarding doping, Khan and Valby have nothing to do with each other. And I highly doubt that Khan got his EPO from Palmer. There are plenty of other sources where Khan could have gotten EPO from besides his college coach.

I have expressed my opinion re Valby. This board instabans anyone who even discusses it. No point renumerating my issues. But when the ncaa announcer is obtusely marveling about how a college runner does not even appear tired as she is engaged in what should by all reasonable standards be a full fledged effort, it speaks for itself.

That said, I have been suspicious of the whole UF program. I do think there is a doping culture among their Olympic level athletes. And I think it predates Palmer.

Lets just say I would be surprised if Valby gets much better post ncaa. But given her marketability and the fact that she got to the games, maybe that is enough.

No. She still has the most marketing up-side of any American female distance runner and even if there were a whiff of association with Kahn (which there isn't), you'd still roll the dice. There is too much value in Parker Valby to let her go to a rival company.

As for Parker, I am suspicious of her separately from this situation. I don't think that her being college teammates with someone means she is doping because he was. When I was in college I was friends with my teammates, but I had no idea what they were off doing. I guess it's possible they could have been doping under my nose. I was too busy in classes, with other friends, to know or care.

It's not like a pro group where everyone is so much more in each other's business and everyone is running for job.

But I do thin outlier behavior is weird. If someone is running record times into their late thirties and forties, that's weird. If someone is running multiple distance events at the Olympics and medals in all of them, that's weird. If someone took five full years off after having a relatively mediocre running career only to come back in their thirties and medal at the oLympics that's weird, if someone drops tons of time in the span of 1 year to also medal at the olympics that's weird.

If someone is affiliating with sketchy coaches and teammates who are busted for doping that's weird.

And if someone has dominated the NCAA and made the Olympics by cross-training....?

I’d bet Khan was doping long before he got to Florida.

Because he was fast in high school, like a certain female athlete with the initials KT, (or EL, or SE, etc.)? Or is it also because he’s from India? Or if he was from Zkenya? But according to the astro knockoff, that is racism. 🙄

It is racism to suggest that every athlete from India who is fast is doping because one person tested positive, hope that helps.
