Why is this thread getting deleted ? Rojo and Wejo please explain ?!?!
It’s a honest question and seems like a very strange set up. I’m very curious

Honestly why would they care? Nico wears Adidas and gets results, they probably wouldn't care if Phil Knight himself was coaching Nico
No way Adidas is happy with this move. Nico is their big American distance star and he’s training with a Nike group. No way they are happy
Because running sponsorships are marketing and he’s now going to be a Nike athlete with Adidas shoes getting paid $$$ by adidas. I would have to agree Adidas will be unhappy with this set up.
They won’t be happy but he’s the best coach in the country.
It wouldn’t be the end of the world for Nico to get another coach. Having a Nike marketed and focused group doesn’t make sense for Nico’s training partners. Top athletes have switched coaches and it’s worked out better. Smith had a terrible Olympics and Nico has time to figure things out.
He’s a top pick for a coach, but stop with saying her the best. His Olympics were sub par and has lots of injuries. Nico is smart and can find a better situation for him and adidas if he wanted.
nobody cares who trains with who, they care about results.
watch one of those Track: All Access videos at Lumberjack Stadium. Nike, Adidas, On, New Balance, Hoka, all out there running together.
He's gonna join forces with Cranny under the Corn-dawg
Does anyone that would be the market audience care?
All of his photoshoots will be in Adidas gear, all of his races will be in Adidas gear, all of his press conferences will be referring to him as an Adidas athlete and wearing the same gear (except at Worlds or Olympics if another team like Nike sponsors the US team)
He will show up in Mike Team training videos, but once again he will be wearing Adidas stuff and won't be a focus of the videos if they are Nike sponsored videos.
What tangible way will this cause a problem? Adidas just needs to keep putting the word out there that he's an Adidas athlete, and I don't see any other problem
Thats not true. When you are a top paid US athlete they absolutely care. This will come to a head in the future. I promise Adidas is not happy one bits

It’s definitely and bad lol for Nico and adidas. Marketing 101 and this just got bad
Yeah I don't see why Adidas would care? Today Nico trains with runners sponsored by Nike and other brands, and Adidas apparently didn't have a problem with that. Going forward the number of runners in that group sponsored by Nike will obviously increase, but I don't see anything really changing from Adidas and Nico's perspective.
A Nike group is marking and advertising. This more of a nightmare for Adidas then Nike. The Marketing people at Adidas are definitely PO.
But Nico won't be appearing in any Nike marketing/advertising, since he's sponsored by Adidas. Nico will still be doing all the same marketing/advertising for Adidas that he's doing now and would be doing in a world where this deal didn't happen.
maybe it will be specified in his contract that he isn't in group affiliated photos and videos. or at least not more than background in those things. other than that, who cares who pays his coach. he will be wearing the adidas and shilling for adidas.
Sub par? His 21 year old - Nico ran under the Olympic record. Nikki was 7th and the others did OK. Woody had probably the most underwhelming results
Abdi fell and was one of 2 out of 7 that wasn't advanced?
Who is injured?
Elly Henes had lung surgery?
E Cranny just broke the 3k record under Cornfields coaching, I'd say NAU is in good hands.
People sound like they have something personal when they make these claims.
I know many of the NAU athletes and pros and they all seem to think he's pretty amazing. That counts more than some random anonymous poster on Let's Run
Belief and trust in your coach is a massive advantage for runners in a sport that is so mental.
If Adidas wanted Mike Smith they should've bought him out first. Sucks to suck.

It was probably because the mod saw your title and thought it was the Nico Young spammer again, without checking.
