We changed the title of the thread to make it more factual and descriptive. It was initially entitled, "I guess Brosnan did actually do it," but the release says the former coach (Brosnan) is still disputing the allegations.
UCLA has reached an agreement with NCAA enforcement staff on recruiting violations that occurred within the women's cross country and track and field programs.
“UCLA has reached an agreement with NCAA enforcement staff on recruiting violations that occurred within the women's cross country and track and field programs. A Committee on Infractions panel has approved the agreement. A former assistant cross country and track and field coach has disputed the violations in this agreement and will resolve his portion of the case through a separate hearing. The agreed-upon violations occurred over several months and include impermissible communications, primarily with parents of student-athletes at other schools who were not in the NCAA Transfer Portal. The school fully cooperated with the investigation and worked collaboratively with the NCAA enforcement staff to bring the matter to a timely resolution.”
Also helps explain why Brosnan hasn't landed another college job. With rare exceptions, no school wants to take on a guy who has NCAA sanctions still looming.
Of course, he may not have landed another job because no one wants him for a variety of reasons. But seems safe to assume that this is a factor.
Quite the career self-sabotage. Get hired as an assistant in a nonrevenue sport in your very first chance in college coaching. Then immediately create so many headaches that you are "not rehired."
This does not say Brosnan committed violations. This is an update with UCLA
This is UCLA trying to make this go away. I assume from experience they will get a time to discuss and come up with a resolution. It says the former assistant coach has disputed violation. That means it's pending. If it was clear he committed them it would have been done a year ago. I've been in this game for a long time. This is just a NCAA follow up not a decision by all means

Really? Are you suggesting there were no violations or that someone other than Brosnan committed them?
"The agreed-upon violations" and "A former assistant cross country and track and field coach". Is that someone other than Brosnan?
So, the NCAA claims UCLA committed violations, the school cooperated and agreed. The coach did not agree and is fighting separately. The school has agreed to penalties.
The ncaa literally got sued over 1 billion basically using athletes for slave labor and making money off them and lost. They have no credibility.
Wait, you're saying, despite Brosnan's track record of embellishing his own accomplishments, the 15 CIF violation accusations at NP he bragged about in the LA Times article and now the UCLA violations, that UCLA's credibility is the issue, not Brosnan's?

Nice record! If he starts a pro group, WADA and AIU are going to be watching his athletes like hawks. Dude is giving Salazar vibes. He never saw a rule that he couldn't try bending.

The point is that this tells us nothing. UCLA, like pretty much every other school, is happy to accept a slap on the wrist and move on. It's easier than fighting. It doesn't mean the case has merit. It's a settlement.
all im reading is a bunch of fanboys licking the sweat off Sean bronsan’s jock strap in here, go find a new sport lol. Bro cheated. It’s pretty obvious. Move on. He’s just another grown man.

Yeah, OK sure. Not sure if you understand how settlements work, but typically it's a compromise between both parties that usually lands in the middle between what both sides think and usually is shaped by the evidence presented. So, the accusations were probably quite a bit more than what what was settled on and UCLA obviously saw there was evidence of some wrong doing, so cooperated and accepted the punishment. If there was no evidence of wrong doing, they would not have accepted penalties. The accusations had merit, which is why UCLA settled.
