The TaylorMade Elite instagram account congratulated Wayment, Morgan, and Camp-Bennett on their finishes in the 5th Ave Mile and "last race as TaylorMade Elite!" Did I miss an announcement that the team is dissolving?
after the mike smith news, someone on here mentioned a rumor about nike starting up a few other pro groups. pure speculation, but maybe diljeet is going to have one of those? her insta shows that she went to the olympics as part of some nike program...
If this is true, what do we think will happen to her current pros? Do they all sign with Nike, or do they leave to be coached by someone else, and if so, who?
She dropped a hint a couple weeks back that something big with Nike was in the works.
Talk about "burying the lead."
Announcing big changes are coming to your pro team in an IG comment.
Possibly the most important single event to happen this weekend in t&f. At least the one with the most far-reaching implications.
If it does play out that Nike is soon (or already) funding a new team in Utah with Diljeet at the helm, it shows that the Swoosh is not waiting around until next year as it is having to doing right now with Mike Smith in Flagstaff.
Will Diljeet be leaving BYU to become a full-time pro coach? Now, or next year?
This "announcement" bears more scrutiny.
Jonathan Gault, what say you?
Seems like what Nike has in the works for multiple new pro distance teams based at multiple altitude sites throughout the US should be at least as important as your Project 99 research.

Diljeet's insta has "excited for our next chapter together" which sounds like rebranding rather than dissolving. Are all of their contracts now up for renewal after this Olympic season?
No way would Wayment, Morgan, or ACB agree to be coached by anyone else. Not a chance. And no way are they moving from Utah. I would suspect it is similar to Mike Smith. Diljeet will be allowed to grandfather in her 3 current pros and anyone else joining the group will be Nike. Or if contracts are up at end of the year since it was an Olympic year, she will make sure the 3 of them are signed to Nike.

on the Stride Report they mention Nike creating more teams, not just the one in Flagstaff. there will also be one in Boulder and possibly Utah. I could see Diljeet remaining BYU womens coach and also taking over a modest group of pro runners. not many women (outside Mormons) want to live/train full time in Provo so if this did happen would be a small group. probably the athletes she already has and a few more. a similar situation to Smiths where she's allowed to grandfather in current runners who might represent different brands.

No way she leaves BYU now, right? It's gonna devastate the recruiting for their women's team.
I’m not trying to be mean but it’s been THREE YEARS. It is not like they have rich history. Taylor Made was simply a few BYU women that stuck around campus. This was not a team that brought in athletes from all over the country or has had several generations of athletes. Best of luck but no one loses without this group.
What are the betting odds on the trifecta of Smith/Flagstaff, Taylor/Provo-Park City, Brosnan/Big Bear being the three new Nike groups?
Ive got no gripe against Sean Brosnan but I can't imagine a pro runner putting their careers in the hands of a guy who's coached nothing but high school kids

I've got no gripe against Sean Brosnan but I can't imagine a pro runner putting their careers in the hands of a guy who's coached nothing but high school kids.
Regarding Sean Brosnan:
He may begin his pro team coaching career as an assistant coach to Mike Smith or someone else.
However, there was earlier speculation on LRC that Sean has created a non-profit which will use proceeds from his forthcoming Redefining Fast book to help fund Sean's own professional distance team. If that is a misunderstanding of Sean's intentions, please offer corrections.
Regarding Diljeet Taylor:
if Nike is interested in putting her on the payroll, makes sense the Swoosh wants to expand the TaylorMade trio into a full-fledged professional women's distance team.
Since the NYC road mile was the last race for the TaylorMade brand, appears Diljeet is willing to have the newly branded pro team start now rather than waiting until next summer a la Mike Smith/Flagstaff. And, since Diljeet has not announced she is stepping down as BYU's women's coach, appears she has no issues coaching both teams simultaneously -- unlike Mike Smith.
And then there is Mike Scannell.
Mike recently stated he is actively seeking training partners for Grant and admitted he has been contacted by other professional runners.
Since Grant is now the shining star in Nike's lineup of US distance runners, seems logical the company would/should be discussing a new professional men's distance team based in Park City with Mike at the helm.
Since Mike lives in the Phoenix area and coaches a local high school team as well, makes sense Nike would want to have an assistant coach living full-time in the Park City area to help out once the team expands to more than just Grant.
Again, another possible employment opportunity for the ubiquitous Sean Brosnan.
