I mean it's 3.56 - I would expect Yared to run under 3.56 almost any day of the year let alone the first of September.
It's smart by way of potential payday. He's probably getting 10k to show up and then I assume the WR bonus is at play (even though for the life of me I don't know why WA would ever put up cash for the WR in this event but hey, good for the athletes). The only thing is that it's 4 days before Zurich - I know that a 3.54 mile or so for him on the road is easy but there is some cost to doing that fatigue wise, will be interesting to see how he goes there backing up from it.

Road miles for me (3:40 1500) were almost 10 seconds slower than my track mile. There’s something about the road that makes it difficult to go quicker, even in supershoes (and will they have a pacer)?

Wow didn't know the World Athletics gave $100k for a world record, did Kessler get that as well. Surprised a bunch of other runners wouldn't fight him for it back then.
