(His left foot goes around the side of the hurdle, instead of over it). He should have also been DQ'd at the Olympics (he got 4th). He is French though...

It has to get caught. Hooking a hurdle is also why he got hurt at ncaas
The biggest thing is that he's doing it because he's too close to the hurdle and hooking because his lead has to diagonally go over the hurdle to get over and that throws off his plane and forces a hook. It's an easy fix and just a bad habit. Unfortunately Ross didn't catch it before it became one
It seems to save time and energy to not have lift your leg as high each time.

Notice how he’s the only one running right on the very edge of his lane on the whole back straight. This isn’t just sloppy form or some subconscious thing he does when he gets tired, he’s totally planning on hooking them the whole time.

But there s more to it actually. He did the exact same thing in the semis (I remember noticing it and was like...let s check in the finals as well).
