- David Weir finishes 5th in Paralympic marathon and then joins Jonnie Peacock in call for equal pay for Paralympians In doing so, he makes a ridiculously bad argument. "We do 26.2 miles, you wouldn’t pay different to men and women – so why not us?" The answer to that for the marathon is simple. An able-bodied marathoner can't run marathons on back-to-back days like they are doing in Chicago and Boston this fall.
