Was he a good actor or was he just playing himself though?

It's worth watching if you have a ton of free time. Much better than Breaking Bad. Just as slow burner so it gets tedious at times.
Preferred him in Boardwalk Empire, especially when he was beating the shït out of the KKK.

He played very different roles in other shows, e.g. Lovecraft Country.

This. Williams' character Omar is widely considered to be one of the best characters on the show too, if not the best.
He was a great actor. RIP
Add up the murders. kKK
Or daily murders black on black in Chicago, Baltimore, St Louis, etc.
"All in the game yo, all in the game."
"You come at the King, you best not miss."
Wow, RIP to one of the greats.
13 years later, still the best show in the history of television.

+100
May he find the peace in death that he did not in this sad, sad world.
100% agree about watching it ASAP. I've re-watched a few times over the years. Even though some of the tech, pagers and phone booths, is out dated you don't even notice it. The acting, dialogue and story are so amazing. If it's not the best TV show ever made it's right up there in the top 10.
