Didn't expect to feel sentimental about this guy's last race but I do. Doped or not I figure he has to genuinely like racing, he easily could have been set after his gold medal or just disappeared after testing positive like many do. He ran 9.93 wind aided this year, if he ran one more year (he's 39 now) he would have a shot at Kim Collins' 9.93 masters WR.
Unless he decides to write a book or something I guess we'll never have closure to the 2006 ban questions. Watching him get resoundingly booed at 2017 Worlds is still the first thing I remember when I see him race now, and the 2015 LRC interview where he asked if wejo was a history major. I was too young to really remember when he was on top of the world in 2004-5 but covering his win in 2017 over Bolt felt surreal.
Strangely I do hope he stays in the sport somehow, though hopefully not as a coach or anywhere near athletes' medicine cabinets...
