This came out just over a month before she got banned (and when she knew that she was fighting the ruling). It's amazing to hear the confidence in her voice about Tokyo despite being in the process of her case. This podcast was fascinating to me especially towards the end of the episode when she talks about her future.
Also, I do feel horrible for her and her family. Her journey to where she is now has been a roller coaster. Quoting from a women running article (they go into this in the episode in-depth at the 13min mark), "Houlihan was born with a rare hereditary blood disorder called spherocytosis, which caused extreme anemia and fatigue, as well as an enlarged spleen, for the first eight years of her life. She spent a lot of time in the hospital for treatments and blood transfusions—and eventually surgery to remove her gallbladder and spleen, which was four times the size it should’ve been. " and "Mom, I’m going to be the best. I’m going to be somebody someday."
I'm not saying she's clean, but her story is heartwrenching and I do feel bad for her family considering everything they've gone through together. I highly recommend listening to the podcast for more info.
