I can't wait to hear her prattle on about how good of a person she is and how she's too virtuous to do drugs. It goes against her moral compass!!! And if that isn't enough for you then you just aren't a true believer(tm).
Same old garbage, the only reason it has a platform at all is because she's an all-american girl from corn country. Half of her court witness testimony was "I know her and she wouldn't do that". "She was so underdeveloped in college", "natural sprinter that just needed to add miles", "cleaned up her diet and started sleeping more", etc etc etc.
I listened to it. Surprisingly, she plans on training & racing unofficial time trials until she is cleared. I got the sense that she will continue to train w/ BTC. I am surprised that Nike would continue to sponsor an athlete who can’t compete. Does anyone know if Justin Gatlin was dropped by his sponsor after testing positive?

Well, considering Nike probably encouraged them (Shelburrito / Gatlin) to dope like they did the NOP, probably not.

Remember that Llewellyn Starks, who was a Capriotti henchman at the time, got drunk and beat the living shlt out of Chris Whetstine in the parking lot of an Indianapolis hotel at USAs because they were so convinced that he sabotaged Gatlin by rubbing gel from "like, a tube with a crooked 'S'" onto Gatlin's legs during a massage immediately prior to his race at USAs and subsequent positive test. Starks was never disciplined and continues to be employed by Nike. That should tell you how much they care.
No, I had never heard that story until now. In general, I’m surprised that athletes who fail drug tests, are investigated, & deemed guilty can continue to be paid by their sponsor & show up to team practices for training

its because they are all compicit.
shelby could rat out her boyfriend and all her btc teammates - so sh, nike and btc come to a cozy deal. they defend her, do the pr, pay her and protect her - she doesnt grass them up.
On the one hand I feel horrible for her if she is clean.
On the other there’s like a 99.999999% chance she’s dirty and lying so idk WHAT to believe

But isn’t that the point? You are saying it’s 1 in a million she is actually being harmed by this system. Why do we feel so bad about the shockingly remote possibility that she could be telling the truth when there are probably 100-1,000 times more innocent people in jail per million serving time? It’s irrational.

I thought Nike did drop Gatlin or at least didn't want him wearing their logo as I swear I remember he was racing in that brand they sell at JCPENNEY....

Track Guy is Mike Jay from Iowa. He announces the big high school races in Iowa (where Shelby is from) as well as most big NCAA meets and often US Championships. So he has known Shelby for a very long time, since like 2009, and I'm sure they have had many interactions at track meets over the past decade. Makes sense to me she would choose to do that podcast, it's local support in her home state.

I too thought Nike dropped gatlin after he was deemed guilty. I ran a quick google search & it looks like at one point post failed drug test he was photographed in a uniform whose logo I don’t recognize (logo looks like an X). Most of his photos were taken on world stages where the uniforms are Nike so it’s hard to tell.
