95% of people who post about nc state here aren't nc state fans, they are katelyn tuohy fans who only embrace the other runners insofar as it helps tuohy get a title for her own trophy case. once tuohy is gone nc state will have no more posts than any other top 10 team

This is true. There was almost zero talk of NC State prior to Tuohy signing with them. Now all you hear about is NC State, Tuohy, Chmiel, Bush, Henes, Tyynissmaa, every new freshmen, every high schooler who signs with them, etc. It will all end soon, thankfully. In the meant time, the NAU women are just chopping at the bit to shut up the "fans" on Saturday with a dominating performance. Sadly, even if they completely annihilate the field, 95% of the post about the meet will be about NCS. But the trophy will be on a plane to Flagstaff on Saturday evening, whether Chmiel runs or not.

poor baby. If you feel there is a lack of interest in NAU, post about them. I think almost every ranking has them the favorite to win, even on this site.
I think semihaze was guilty of a lot of things but of late it has been the "anti Tuohy" fans (mostly Wiley/Valby fans) that have taken things over the top. I could live without it all and stick to 1) topic of the thread and 2) more intelligent discussion. A reset would be nice. If someone starts a thread you don't care to see, don't read it.
Imo, Semihaze was for sure Uber-exuberant for sure, but I didn’t see her really proactively go after others like Astro did. I’ll give you credit, you are more reasonable and do bring more intelligent discussion (imo). Perhaps a “reset” can/will happen, but I think it’s safe that the “anti Touhy” peeps are probably not really anti Touhy. They were for others (or for just good running as a whole) who felt like the NCSt fans were bad sports by hitting below the belt with drug accusations, etc.
So with it now definitely confirmed that Chmiel is not running this weekend, who will NC State's top 7 be?
Tuohy, Bush, Tyynismaa (is she healthy), Stephens, Hartman, Quarzo, Gapes, Schulz, Howlett? 1 through 5 seem OK providing that Tyynismaa is healthy but there seems to be a big fall off after Hartman & Quarzo.

Semihaze absolutely went after people, consistently name calling and using hateful language. She was/is a bigot and I am glad to see her gone. The conversations since then have still been annoying at times but much more tolerable. Whoever the poster is now that constantly replies to any post they don't like with "deez nuts" is similarly obnoxious and I suspect may be semi...

Has this actually been confirmed? On another thread? Other social media source?

You're kidding, right?
I bet I can count on one hand the number of Wiley threads there have been since the World Road Mile on October 1. Wiley doesn't have stalker fans, she has fans. I'm sure there will be a thread started tomorrow since she will race for the first time in nine weeks. Over the past year, there have rarely been threads made about her except for when she races. You know, like when she broke Simpson's 1500 record in Brussels, was top-5 three times at USATFs, won at Music City and Ed Murphey, ran 1:57 in Switzerland, was 9th at the WRRC, won 5 NAIA titles in four hours, etc. The best collegiate distance runner in the last 35 years; I think she's earned a thread or two every few weeks.

I agree with this for the most part though I think that it is mostly the Wiley fans who oddly have been quiet here lately. To me the Valby fans just seem to be doing some good natured ribbing. I don't particularly find their banter all that annoying.
What set the Wiley fans off was talk of doping by astro. They also took thing over the top by making unsubstantiated allegations against Tuohy. They are very annoying but are relatively harmless due to the doltish and outlandish statements that they make. Their trolling is juvenile and not at all clever.
The only really annoying Valby fan is the one that always starts the "Valbymania Cannot Be Suppressed, Dismissed, Deleted, Denied...blah, blah, blah" threads. Most of his threads get deleted more than likely due to how creepy they are. I wouldn't be surprised if that guy is a predator of some sort. Really bizarre stuff and what makes it more bizarre and weird is the guy is probably some boomer with adult children.
I'm just hoping for some great racing this weekend. On both the men's & women's side their is a lot of intrigue for the individual & team titles. .

What is weirder and more obsessive then jumping into a thread about a team's #2 runner to bag on the team, its runners and fans? No one forced you to open the thread.
I would never ever wish injury on any athlete. That being the case, if NC State team members came remotely close to matching the pretentiousness of their fans here (and ant least a few appear to), I can see how some would attribute injuries to karma.

This is sick. Show us on the doll where the NC State team hurt you. Then GFY!
