Holy s*** it's true. Never seen that before. Really lame by UVA for the course not to be able to handle the number of spectators. I wonder if a bunch of people have flights and no tickets. Never needed to buy in advance before.
I agree. This is a horrible way to stage a national championship. In addition to being "sold out" Virginia is also hosting Duke in football. I'd like to say this is poor planning but I just think the AD of Virginia doesn't care.
All the crying over attendance on LR and this year lots of people want to go
I checked the UVA website a month ago where they said you must have a ticket and they anticipated a sell out. The hotels were expensive so I got an Airbnb.
At this point I'd like to thank UVA for hosting this event!!

137 tickets now all sold. 2 busloads of 50, 3 school vans of 10, and 7 in a refurbished ice cream truck to make the trip from the strip mall.
that's great that it's sold out. A lot of hype and interest around this years race. location is a big plus as Charlottesville is easy to drive to from the DC area and the Carolinas. Only a 4 hour drive from Raleigh. bet you see lots of Wolfpack supporters there for Tuohy's finale.
I just hope they didn't limit tickets as Panorama Farms is a privately owned compost/cemetary and they dont want crowds trampeling all over it. that'd be a shame.
Very low amount of tickets allotted and the shuttle bus for all spectators makes it the worst run event in history. No one wants to wait for shuttle bus.
It's sold out not because the venue lacks capacity, it's because there is no parking and all ticketed spectators have to be bussed over from the mall. Number of busses, space on busses and the timing of the busses is the limiting factor.
