What exactly is the source of this supposed "rumor"? The fact that she didn't run at Regionals?

Why would she even travel with the team to Regionals if that were true? They only bring the 7 running and a few alternates with them, not the whole team.

I was at the southeast regional last Friday and I did not see Kelsey walking around on a pair of crutches. She was not at the meet. The only poster on the these message boards who consistently shares accurate advance information related to the NCSU cross country team is Tuffy.

Thanks. I follow various NC State message boards, and on one of the message boards there was a fan who made the trip to the Regional and was giving reports of what he was seeing and posting several pictures he took while there. He mentioned nothing about seeing Chmiel at all, much less on crutches.

Sorry to digress from the potentially bad news, but do you think they will do something similar at Natty’s? It would be nice to see live reports from the venue. (And where is this board we can follow?)

Your welcome! It seems a bit of a stretch for her to have raced in Tallahassee and placed 3rd at ACCs and less than 2 weeks later she develops a stress fracture has a surgical procedure and is recovered enough from her procedure to have traveled to Spartanburg and was at the meet on her crutches cheering on the Pack women. I guess anything is possible but for right now I’m considering this rumor very unlikely.

It was in this thread/board below, Inside Pack Sports. I wouldn't expect a ton of updates and live reports from users of this forum. There may be a few from regular Joes who go to the event. But it's not like the site is going to send their reporters to the race. There's also a good community of people on the 247 site, PackPride, that may have a few updates.

I also heard that she had surgery on her foot this week. That sucks for NC State. Bush, Tyynismaa, Stephens, and Hartman are really going to need to step it up.

How is she going to do that if she just had surgery and has a pin in her foot? Did you hear that recently?
