This is good news- I thought he was going to focus on the track in 2017 - excited to see him race again but thought maybe he would pick London to see how fast he could go and maybe take a crack at the AR.
Why London? you know he will need a magnifying glass to see Bekele, since there will be a 3 mile gap between the two

Can we even kiss him as he pass by Wellesley College?

Only if you have testosterone gel on your lips!

A telescope would work a little better in this analogy than a magnifying glass.

Come on. That's crazy.
Galen will only have about 1 Mo Mile to run...after Kenenisa Bekele has already finished the race.
I am really sorry about that Alberto.
Please tell Galen to wear lots of stupid Nike Sub-2:00 Marathon aerodynamic Speedy Tapeâ„¢ with his Nike Speedy Suitâ„¢ for his next marathon.

(You can tell it is Evan Jager from his long hair.)
Here is a photo of Galen wearing the full Nike NOP Speedy Suit on the far right. Mo Farah is next to Galen, then Cam Levins, with Alberto on the far left:

I think you mean binoculars.

A magnifying glass? You realize that an object has to be inside of the focal point of a magnifying glass in order to appear enlarged and upright, right? Looking at something three miles away through a converging lens would make the object appear smaller, not larger.

U got the idea. Let's not get to the science of magnifying glass, telescope or binocular. Probably Galen needs all of them
Bunch of frigging haters, I am racing Boston and glad he will be there even if he's finishing a hour ahead of me.
Yeah. I'm curious why the sudden turnaround and commitment to the marathon by Rupp. Although, I suppose running a marathon in the spring sets him up for running a series of track races in September/Oct.

No doubt he can run Boston and come back and make the us team for London about 10 weeks later. Helps him that the us is not very strong in the 10k and all he will have to do is finish top 3 an easy task for him with a 10 week gap

You mean the Bekele that Rupp crushed in 2012, and that was nowhere in Rio for the 10,000 or marathon in 2016?
Very doubtful Rupp would end up more than 30 seconds behind Bekele in his next Marathon. If Bekele goes 2:03:00, Rupp will go at most 2:03:30

You're right, but I think binoculars would be even more appropriate. Telescopes are for peeping toms and astronomers.

No. All we have to do is inject our runners with EPO and other PEDs at the proper intervals leading up to the race, and then sit back and enjoy the charade on race day.

Rump will never break 2:05. And every sane person knows a 50% fit bekele beats a 100 percent fit Rupp. Just pray a less than 50% bekele to show up like 2012 to have Rupp a shot to beat bekele when they meet next time

Only if Bekele is "outside of 2f". If you know that he needs to be inside of f to be enlarged and upright, then you likely know that he would be enlarged and inverted between f and 2f. In this case, Rupp might get a slightly magnified Bekele with a +0.0004142475 diopter lens as long as he doesn't get gapped by more than three miles. The working distance might be cumbersome. It shouldn't matter anyway as long as Rupp has 20/20 vision. At that distance, Bekele's 1.60 meter tall frame sub tends an arc of 1.1393 minutes and a 20/20 eye can resolve at least 1.00 arc minute.
