Much anticipation to see if Oregon women could smash the 4x1500 record held by Ark at 16:53 but Oregon not showing up. Elmore 4:08, Kazimierska 4:09, Ayyildiz 4:12 (est from 4:30 mile), and Barnett 4:16 (est from4:34 mike) for a total of 16:45.
washington will win going away.
WA entries are not their best foursome for 4x1500 (Sat). Based on entries it looks close to me between UVA and NC St with UVA having edge with Appleton on anchor - though they are in DMR on prior day. WA looks like they loaded up DMR(Fri) and 4x800 (Sat). NC St is all in on 4x1500, though Hartman running 1500 and not the relay.
Penn Relays has not been on TV (it was NBC) since 2019. That was the last year of USA vs. The World in the 4x100. The 2020 and 2021 meet was canceled. Post-covid, when Penn Relays returned in 2022, USA vs. The World was no longer part of the meet, and NBC was no longer broadcasting a couple of hours of the meet on Saturday afternoon. This meet not being on TV is not a new development.
It is . . . . . (drumroll) . . . . .on FloTrack. The backstory behind NBC is complicated and not worth it retelling.
Gotta love how the heat seedings were done for these prelim rounds. One of the Jamaican teams DESTROYED their heat competition during the girls 4x100, as they won their heat by over 5.5 seconds. They still have the top time of the prelim round (46.72) but the event is still underway.
Arrgg, Washington is bring the B team :(. Another 4x1500m powerhouse Norte Dame not showing up and that’s a 1 hr flight. I’d pick GT with Riggins and Scrimgeour (sp). Will they even break 17:00 :(.
There’s another thread “is GT the premier 800m Univ?” If they win the 4x1500m at penn relays and break 17:00, they are the best 1500m/mike Univ also.
Anybody else getting blank results on pennrelaysonline.com results page? The 4x800 and 4x100heats should be done but nothing.
I see results into the 4x400s which appear pretty much on schedule
Thanks. In case it helps anybody else, you have to click on the clock to the right of each event and whoola the times are posted :)
There's also an event ranking link on the far right side for the multiple-heat prelim events

4:09.87 for Teagan Schein-Becker (Rider), likely wins the women 1500m (2 heat final)
Hartman did not run 1500 for NC st while Napolean did. Maybe putting her on 4x1500 to make that team stronger?
... and now we wait 15 minutes before the next race begins. There should just be a 5 minute gap max between these events. The relays portion of the meet isn't afraid to go ahead of schedule.
Oh yay, they went 6 min early for the men's 1500m. Gotta love how the Penn athletes in these races are essentially rabbits.
3:42.53 for Stony Brook's Collin Gilstrap. He blew away from the field with about 250m to go.
9:57.94 personal best for Penn's Olivia Morganti in the college women steeplechase. She burst into the lead with about 600m to go and held on. The time falls within the meet top 10.
Anyone else see Simeon Birnbaum on the DMR? Thought he was out for the season. Do the entries for relays not really matter?

Those names will be updated once the relay cards come in. There will be a * in front of the name listing to show this is the official team makeup.
