Good on him for being out there and slogging out 26 miles. I'm sure that wasn't easy, physically or psychologically. I have a feeling the psychological burden of being a former Olympian in this physical condition is not easy to bear, especially with people like the OP who like to mock and ridicule.
Do you really think BK cares about people on LRC? My guess is that he's just having fun.
Is he really that fat?
Maybe he cares, maybe he doesn't. Either way, no need to mock him. Peace out.
seriously. i am mad, brah.If i could genocide just one group of people from the earth it would be the "you mad, brah?" Letsrun posters.if i could do another, it would be racists

^ ah yes... yet another dim-witted, cookie cutter LRC reply.

This could be good.
I think BK qualified with a 3:26 at NYC in 2014. He ran almost an hour slower at Boston. That marathon cheat investigation guy and his cronies had better get on it!

We are supposed to be shocked that Bob Kennedy is not a perennial 25 yr old running 13:00 5Ks?
Yes, makes me feel older than I already feel!
BK has nothing to prove. He can run as fast as he likes or jog as slow as he likes. He's proven himself. Time to actually enjoy running. I know that running at a high level becomes a job, and the fun part goes out the window. Glad to see he's at it for reasons other than a paycheck.

Who defends xfitters? And let them get their own dumpsters.
REAL XFIT MORON - No woman of any quality cares much about a guy being shredded and buff. Those kind of women move on as soon as the buff turns to puff or the money dries up.
Everyone else:
BK ran at the highest level of the sport, set American Records, placed 6th in the Olympics after leading in the last 2 laps. He made the finals in 6 global championships in the 5000m and made one other team. He was 12th at World Cross. I suspect he did it clean against a lot of guys who were dirty.
He trained incredibly hard and probably lost the joy of running. I hope he is enjoying running slow now. Good for him.

Dude, this is an obvious troll thread. THEY WANT YOU TO REPLY AND BE ANGRY. Their goal is to get you riled up. You let them win
He's one of the few people on the planet that when asked their 5k PR can start it off with "twelve...."
He can do whatever the F he wants the rest of his running or non running days.

Agreed EXCEPT.

100% wrong IMO! Competing at the highest level is certainly enjoyable too. Getting a paycheck from it is probably awesome too.
I'm sure he enjoyed both. Shalane commented that she wished she had a bib on.

He prolly doesn't get asked that too often.
I am currently in way better shape than Bob and can't think of anyone ever asking my 5K PR. They do ask my bodyfat percentage fairly ofte, if it's warm and have my shirt off.

Young people don't have a clue. I'm sure Kennedy could sacrifice his current priorities, focus a little more on training, and get down to 2:40 within a year and a half but why would he do that?
Maybe he just wants to enjoy running, I ran in two Olympic track trials in my day and am only a couple years older and jog about 4 to 5 times a week these days. I would love to enter a big marathon but financially I can't justify spending 200-400 dollars to go run a 3:30-4:00 hour marathon.

Exactly. Hey clueless kiddos, come back to this thread when you turn 35 yrs old. You probably would have quit running long before then.

Looks like the EPO ran its course. My first full thin was 3:48 off of 30 mpw, 1 hour long run once a week, and walking from miles 17-23 on a much hillier course.
Oh my Gosh you're so amazing!!! What an incredible person you are!! If only we could have more stories about you! Way to take the subject matter of the post and try to point all finger in you're direction. Pathetic!

No f ing way .
Unless you 're a race walker .
