I'm headed there this weekend. Will be on the strip without the reliable use of a car. I know, this sounds like something from Diehard 3, but if anyone has any ideas for outdoor runs, I would appreciate it greatly.

are you going to get with a prostitute? although I say I wouldn't ... i dunno man ... vegas ...
God help you son. Run early.
Run in the early Morning. Temp is better and there are less people\cars on the street.
Running down the strip might be fun once or twice, but look for other places to run. I run to a college and ran laps around it when I was there.
For chrissakes why are you going to Vegas to train in JULY?
You are nuts.
When I lived in Las Vegas from 1997 to 1999 I had to do my summer running in the middle of the night.
Rent a car and head to Caliente Nevada, reasonably good altitude, about 4500 feet and nice scenery.
definitely run to the OG. Olympic Garden. You won't be disappointed unless you don't like women.
And I shall add this to all of the other threads asking the exact same thing:

Get in a run with the Washington Wizards summer league team. Know they are playing some games out there this week. Have you got ball skills or mad hops? Maybe you can play your way onto the roster alongside Gilbert Arenas for next season.
you've got too much time on your hands, chester. welcome to the club.
I was on a national team that had resources living all over the US.
Vegas is a cheap place to have team meetings and each airline has a great selection of non-stop flights from just about any where in the US.
I usually ran about 5am in the morning.

I was there for a conference for work at the MGM with no car this March. I ended up running over to the UNLV campus and running laps around the sidewalks over there. It sucks to get back there as you have a bunch of traffic lights but once you are on the campus, it's not too bad (except for the concrete).
If you had a car, there's always that Red Rock Canyon or some name like that.
I was thinking about suggesting that the OP do a search, since this is a frequently posted question, but he was lucky enough to have you do all the work for him.
