Hey everyone, I'm hitting up Vegas for the next few days for some new years fun, anyone who's familiar with the area know some good places to run? I'm hoping i won't have to use the treadmill in the hotel every day, any help is appreciated.

I was there last year.I had some great runs on dirt heading south from the strip (tropicana) along the airport property and then followed the train tracks east (there was a dirt road). I was doing 10 milers but you could go longer.
Wow, its only 8 days since this was asked last. Use the search function, this is asked every couple of weeks. And the responses haven't change too much over the past couple of years.
McGato is being a smartass. Thats excesssively bold for a NOHA and 32:00 5 miler to be talking in that tone of voice.
If you have the use of a car, the #1 must run is out at Red Rock Canyon. RRC is approximately 20 miles west of The Strip, down Charleston Rd. This is a state park with awesome red rock formations throughout. There are a ton of dirt trails inside the park, but be careful about getting lost on those.
There's also a paved road that makes a 13+ mile loop thoughout the park. This loop is wickedly hilly, topping out at close to 5000' elevation. The little traffic that's in the park can only go one way on this road, and it's easily wide enough to accomodate you and them. Park in the lot just outside the entry gate and run in. You'll save the entry fee.
Having relatives there, this is a place I run every time I'm in Vegas. Make the trip out there - you'll be glad you did.
I happen to be in Vegas for the next few weeks. If you have transportation, drive to Sunset Park (it is on the corner of Sunset Rd and Eastern Ave). There is a paved and dirt loop.
While you're there, you can run by Wayne Newton's house just off Warm Springs Road.
I head straight out to the Chicken Ranch. There are some good roads out there, and they are really helpful if you know what I mean. Eh huh. I said "head".
Red Rock canyon is great, or hotel tredmill.
1 run on the strip and the tredmill will be looking good.
Alright, mcgato aside, thanks for the help everyone, sounds like red rock canyon is it, along with a little help from the hotel treadmill. Should be a blast...
Geez, I tell you what you need to know, and I get no thanks whatsoever. And to JD Morgan, I am actually closer to 34 minutes this year. So sad.
Post here after you get back, and let me know what you thought of Red Rock. Enjoy your trip.
eff the treadmill. I am telling you I ran 50 miles in 4 days running mostly on dirt.
Whereever you end up running, as long as it is outside... BRING WATER with you. I did some 10 milers along the back of the strip and had to ask a security guard for some water cause it was so bad. But then again, it was summer... either way, just in case, bring some water.
