Why does the athlete who WON the 1500m not deserve a thread of their own? Amazing run to hold off McGee Johnson Wiley and MacLean! Well done.

Would be nice if the winner got a mention on the home page, I can see something abut Nuguse but no mention of Hiltz? Come on folks.
I created a thread congratulating Nikki but the mods of course had to delete it because I referred to them as they.
My only hope is they’re doing a write up that’s posted tomorrow? It’s ridiculous

What a run!! I'm so happy for them, such an inspiration, and hardworking athlete.
The maturity they show in racing these days makes me think they might challenge for a global medal in the coming few champs.
I am amped for Hiltz. I think people are (rightly) concerned about the trans issue in women's sports and somehow (wrongly) lump Hiltz into this topic.
That is not what is happening, Hiltz is clear about "not feeling like a woman" sometimes and that is what being non-binary means. That should not trigger anyone. It is a thing some people (not you or me) feel. No need for the stress.
If we mess up the pronouns, no stress either, mistakes happen. Just don't do it on purpose.
I think its because she insists on everyone calling her they/them,and saying shes not a woman, yet competes as a woman,in womens races. You cant have it both ways.

the forcing of awkward pronouns on everybody is just annoying. this crap about what it is to feel like a man or woman is just a mental health issue imo, completely irrelevant and whether they mean it or not has everybody else walking on eggshells about precise language for something that is trivial and should be unimportant
Kinda my thought. Then im like wait, who cares. She'da got steamrolled by *checks list* the 200th fastest highschool boy miler of 2023 lmao.
Typical LRC misogynistic BS. The women's race was even before the men's race. Do better brojos, you're pathetic.
Why can’t they have it both ways? They were born without manparts — none — and compete successfully against similarly manpartsless athletes. We’re good so far, right?
But they don’t want to be defined by, or called the names or pronouns traditionally used for manpartsless humans, and they’ve asked we use (sometimes awkward) pronouns.
What the heck is so wrong with that? If that is “both ways,” why can’t they have it?
Let’s rise to the challenge. We can do it, people!
She IS a woman, but if she runs as a woman in womens races, wins national titles, and then has the nerve to call people out on "misgendering" her, she's gonna get a lot of pushback.I only hope she's got thick skin, because people will keep calling her out,and committing "gender violence" against her.
i wonder if the whole pronoun thing is more about an attempt in showing solidarity with the lgbtq+ brigade than it is about feelings on her own gender.
They is hard to talk about. I think Hiltz's pronoun choice hurts her marketability and popularity. Non-binary people need something better than they/them.
Nothing more inspirational than the they/them/it movement lol
Err what? I was talking about Hiltz WINNING THE RACE. Your post doesn't even reference the race at all??
When I said it I meant it so credit to LR at now putting up a decent race report here:
We should at least be able to call her she during the race. I assume she must be a girl during the race so why can’t we?
