Chad Noelle Suspended By USATF Safe Sport

I got an email this morning from USAT and saw a familiar name on the updated suspended list, Chad Noelle.

Does anyone have any insight into what exactly he did? He was a stud runner back in college and I’ve heard 3rd-party rumors that he’s been in verbal and physical fights with many people over the years. Can you get suspended for that or did he cross the line in some other way?

Good to see Safe Sport actually and protecting athletes from someone who resorts to these methods of coaching. No one should ever have to put up with that behavior and consequences happen when verbal abuse is a part of your coaching philosophy. I wish Kaela the best heading into the OLY trials.

He did not win NCAAs while at Oregon. He was kicked off the team by Robert Johnson for shoving an elderly Hayward field home meet volunteer down to the ground after a garbage race. He then transferred to Oklahoma State and later won NCAAs.

If you know anything about Greene, NY and Chad Noelle's history this is not a surprise

And not to be merging Letsrun issues here, but remember when everyone gave Team Boss a hard time about rejecting a former member's boyfriend...Hm. Seems like there was reason to do so.

Okay here's why I think track coaches have a problem. You see it often. In other sports, you primarily have a man coaching men, so the team trains and hangs around men almost exclusively. There's no women's football team. There's a women's basketball team but they probably don't train around the men.

So basically, other sports have women and men separated and track/field is an exception. There's men and women training together, hanging out together on the same team. You get to know each other. This automatically means that inappropriate behavior is given a platform to manifest because the males essentially have readily available access to the females. That's why you see these problems always arising in track.

I’m guessing we don’t get the SafeSport bashing for this ruling that we saw around here for the Salazar case.

I coach men and women and there are none of these problems. You sound like a predatory creep who should be investigated by SafeSport. Please, never coach.

Why does Oklahoma State allow everyone else’s garbage to join their team after being dropped by somebody else?

Stories about this guy at Oregon… yikes.

There are people on the safe sport list that are still coaching. Does safe sport have any enforcement power??
