Is anyone else here a bit skeptical of the times? Multiple national records, debut records etc etc. Is the course short? Was the course set up in such a way that around bends you could cut short? Things just don’t add up for me.

In the prediction thread when Gidey was announced, I suggested the marathon might not be Gidey's optimal distance given her mechanics and got downvoted to oblivion. I said she'd run fast but not get the world record, especially not on her debut.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Gidey, Ayana and Dibaba do going forward, but I think there are better Ethiopian marathon runners.
I am kind of a jerk sometimes but thanks guys it is always more enjoyable to watch these races with others that have passion for it, even if I often find your opinions misguided.

I think she's a true marathoner unlike the three I mentioned.
My only wish this year is that www.letsrun.com forums installs a filter that delay for 24 or 48 hours ALL posts containing the word "doping" and its synonyms etc - so as to make threads readable again.
