Can Kipligat hold this pace for another half hour?

Kiplagat is throwing the hammer down. She's got it.
She has a stride like the guys do (and the haircut too)
Anybody know what's up with Meb, Ward?

I doubt it... Rupp has a habit of tripping his teammates... Abdi is the experienced road racer. Rupp is the noob.
You doubt it? Well luckily we live in 2017. Watch an archive and you will see. Abdi abruptly drifted in front of Galen.
I'm calling Rupp ftw. Looking really smooth right now, like he's jogging.
She's a lock.
Anyone else notice that Suguru Osako is in the lead pack as well? Wonder if he'll take down galen
Edna really isn't playing. How long can she keep this up?
Anyone know if Rupp is using the fancy new Sub-2 shoes?
100m up
Al Trautwig announced on broadcast that Edna Kiplagat ran 4:50 for the uphill 20th mile. The split in the press room was given as 5:01. I'm inclined to believe the latter. Most men would have trouble running that mile in 4:50.
But what is not in doubt is Kiplagat is destroying the field right now. Her lead is 12 seconds at last count and growing. Hasay in 3rd.

Edna!
Tim H with a rare misspeak. He said she's trying to impress the marathon selectors for the World Champs. No, she's going for the$500,000.
Hasay looking good. She's still in third
It blows my mind that they go to commercial on NBCSN saying she's made the move. They act like making a move 1:50 into a marathon is no different thatn running a 5:30 5th mile.

Agreed....the coverage has been spotty, and commentary just way off at times.
Just bad, bad coverage at key moments.

She can keep it up right to doping control. Then it will all go downhill from there.
Who's the guy in white vest and red shorts? Looks so easy.

In other news the Edna has put the EPO to use and shattered the womens field
Look it wouldn't surpirse me if anyone was on EPO but why are you saying this about her. Do you think she's been oN EPO her whole career? SHe's been good for a long time.
She won LA in her 2nd marathon, won NY in her third marathon.
I had lunch with her and her husband and family in Kenya. Hope she wins it and gets the $500,000.

Was wondering the same. Luke, Ward, and Meb are listed at #14, #15, #17... so must all be hanging somewhere in the trailing pack. Looks like no DNFs yet.

She might win - but there is no such thing as a lock this far out from the finish. Esp a hot one.
I'm not sure this is over - still 30 minutes to go and kiplagat doesn't look great to me. 17 seconds...
Can't see either Meb or Ward in background, Osako is still in lead pack though, as is Abdi...no idea how he can run 5 min miles that lawnmower shuffle.[quote
she's really pushing it though. Could she blow up?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
