Darth Maul is actually alive, but you're right about Dooku.
Plus Dooku was a little bitch.

Yeah. I'm curious why the sudden turnaround and commitment to the marathon by Rupp. Although, I suppose running a marathon in the spring sets him up for running a series of track races in September/Oct.

Not necessarily. In 2014, Farah ran London which was earlier in April than Boston and it took him will July to get back into good form (8:07 2M I think). He didn't even want to do Commonwealth. And even with Farah he was still doing speed work and lower mileage than a normal marathoner. Rupp has probably committed more closely to marathon training.
You saw the Olympic Trials 5k. The 3:50 mile speed he has is completely gone. This marathon could possibly put him back quite a bit before World's in August. And even then he has to qualify at US Champs at the end of June.

They say there's no such thing as a dumb question. Apparently they didn't see yours. Just sayin.
Can't follow a simple discussion, can you? Just asking v2.

You mean the Bekele that Rupp crushed in 2012, and that was nowhere in Rio for the 10,000 or marathon in 2016?
Very doubtful Rupp would end up more than 30 seconds behind Bekele in his next Marathon. If Bekele goes 2:03:00, Rupp will go at most 2:03:30
lunatic.
@Letsrun - You didn't mention anything about the mechanical doping controversy. His Rio NIKE Spring shoes that can give him potentially a 3% improvement in Running Economy seem to be totally off the radar.
I'm in awe that this is not a bigger topic.

1.IAAF Rules state that no unfair additional asistance should be provided by footwear.
"Athletes may compete barefoot or with footwear on one or both feet. The purpose of shoes for competition is to give protection and stability to the feet and a firm grip on the ground. Such shoes, however, must not be constructed so as to give an athlete any unfair additional assistance, including by the incorporation of any technology which will give the wearer any unfair advantage. A shoe strap over the instep is permitted. All types of competition shoes must be approved by IAAF."

2.IAAF and USATF have previously banned shoes with spring systems in them.

3.Rupp and Kipchoge are supposedly known to have worn the extra thick Hokaesque shoes with hidden springs in Rio. Bekele in Berlin.
4. Nike Breaking2 statement clearly states that they are looking at temp regulation (i.e. holes in vest, cooling hats), weight, cushioning & propulsion (i.e.springs hidden in Rupp's rio shoes)
5. Were Nikes shoes submitted to IAAF for review, and as the olympic rules state were they made available to all other athletes? Is there an official process or do you just call the supreme lord commander Coe?

Why a magnifying glass? Will he be studying the street fauna on route or did you not attend physics at school.

U got the idea. Let's not get to the science of magnifying glass, telescope or binocular. Probably Galen needs all of them
Keep digging that hole with your concrete mixer truck.
I'm signed up for Boston, and I'm wicked pumped for Galen and the other top US runners to be there. I'll have to get some autographs and pics afterwards. I try for a first wave time at Houston in 3 weeks, and now have an extra incentive for making 1st wave.
I'm a straight guy, and I think Galen's pretty cute. I bet the scream tunnel volume will be on 11 when he goes through.
Consider this: Galen's coach made himself a legend at Boston, and people are still talking about 34 years later. He's probably considered that as part of his reasons for running it. I bet he goes for the win no matter the pace. If it's hot he will know to drink lots, and get lots of ice hats!
