That's what I was thinking.. no idea. Maybe some behind-the-scenes emotional narrative that we don't know about? There's always something: injured teammate, sick coach, etc etc etc

Any final results online yet? I see the times for the splits...but not the finish. Why is this so hard at so many meets?

Results won't be posted until after the awards ceremony. Nike likes to make that a big deal (and I agree, that's a great way to do it).
Oakley wins. Stratton and Gregory 2,3.
I agree, Derrick was quite good and has gotten better over the years. The fact that he's a former NXN champ certainly helps. He has a future doing this type of thing.

love seeing derrick on the broadcast, he has always struck me as one of the most well-spoken and intelligent individuals when conducting interviews, so that should carry over to the broadcast. Also with his alma mater in NV being one of the main title contenders, he should have some insight there as well.

Seems like a horrible idea. At least show the raw individual finish times if you want to hold the final team scores, that's kind of understandable. But I can't think of too many sporting events where live scoring is there, but not made available to fans.
You understand that if you release the individual times, people can calculate team scores, right?

Murphy is just not a great XC runner in adverse conditions and vs. a deep field like this. Definitely more of a miler. I have no doubt she'll be crushing it indoors and out.

Pretty easy to count team runners if full individual results were posted.
I would agree it would be nice if they posted the top 15 or so individuals and their times, though.

I didn't see my fave, Kate Murphy, in the video. Didn't catch her singlet color beforehand. Obviously, she didn't score as well as predicted by the masses, including me. Hoping her team did OK. Results will be up before NASA lands on Mars, though.

I do - but let those people figure it out if they want to. Someone could watch the finish line and figure it out, does that mean you don't show the race live?
Not providing live data for a live sporting event is just backwards. There's no need to create fake suspense.

No one watching at the finish line is going to be able to count all the team runners and figure out official results between very many teams. Too many runners coming in too quickly, with individuals mixed with team runners.

You could freeze frame and rough count. Yes, that's absurd, but that's the point I'm trying to make. It'd be like watching a basketball game with no score and then waiting till 30 minutes after the end to show the final score.

It had nothing to do with her pushing any rules, Nike just kept flip flopping on their decision.
What does Evan Jager getting married have to do with anything?

I have complained about Flotrack showing the winner walking around after the race rather than showing the runners behind the winner crossing the finish line. Here NXN did the same. Plus NXN coverage talks about how many individuals finished in the top 20 but never provided a list during the race. With this coverage once you know the winner the suspense is over because little other info was provided other than top teams during the race.
that due announcing the awards just pronounced Evan Jager's last name wrong. That's embarrassing. He should be ashamed of himself.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
