Reminds me of Pat Porter. Has a long fluid stride. Not the quickest turnover but he has the strength. Ran a marathon as a 15yo.
Must be a seriously slow course.
He won by 34 seconds...
202 SR
First 200+ in the nation this year, far as I know.

Bowdoin is one of the slowest major xc courses in the country and the course was all ripped up from rain that morning and it was one of the last races of the day- just look at where everyone else in that race finished, he beat really really good runners by 30 seconds+.
Why have f**king 5k races in college???!!!!??? College is 8k
Guess d3 liberal arts schools like pretending it's still high school
Lol, perhaps because it was a hign school race
to put it in perspective
Jim Rosa 15:35.5
Lopez Lomong 15:45.4
King Ches 15:48.3
I watched the race... Very, very impressive. The kid was not playing around, he put a gap on the field within 400 meters and did not look back.
Guy there split him at 2:01 for the first 800m but I can't verify the accuracy of that. Watching him though I could believe it.
And Brody Hasty beat him earlier in the season and no one is talking about him I wonder why
It's a conspiracy, gmtirds.
Do you have something to contribute?

Because Principe's performance this weekend was more impressive. Hasty ran 20 seconds slower this weekend than he did earlier this year on the same course. Principe ran his race solo to break his own course record that he set earlier this year. Principe ran on a difficult course. Hasty ran on an easy course. No one here is doubting Hasty's talent and as we've already seen this year, Principe still has his work cut out if he wants to win NXN. However, this weekend belonged to Principe.
This is a legendary performance. I estimate that it won't go down again for another 10 years at the very least.

false.
I don't care how fast he went out, the first half mile is flat then uphill.
If he actually went out that hard he would not have won.

it is not like those are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th fastest people on the course list now. ches is barely in the top 50 anymore so saying that you ran faster than him on this course is no real indication of future success.

Nick Ryan is #2 on this course. Not a household name...
That being said, a lot of good runners have run on this course. PrÃncipe, I believe, is the top contender at NXN.

Like I said, I just heard another coach take the split and I can't verify it. Just in response though, isn't the.5M mark right below the playground at the base of the hill?
He definitely slowed down a little after the playground hill, that was clear. But I think the possibility of a low-2' isn't totally outrageous for the first.5M. Top NCAA guys have gone 4:10 for the first mile of an 8k and still settled into a strong pace for the duration of the race. It's fun to speculate about it...Principe ran very well, it was a bold, impressive race regardless of the splits.
When I posted this a few weeks ago, complimentary of his smooth powerful running style and potential, the LRC Rabbletrolls came out of the woodwork to comment "nothing special" "yawn" etc.. This won't be the last laugh, but I'm having a good one nonetheless.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
