As far as I know there aren't any hard rules for qualification, if Footlocker wants him to run, he should be able to. Let's rouse up a storm and make it happen.

Would love to see him in the field.
He didn't qualify, and it wouldn't be fair to other runners who are better than him.
Better than him? Anderson is THE BEST in the nation.

Yes, he should be able to run. At least make an exception for the INDIVIDUAL winner at NXN. That would be added incentive. Anderson is a great runner, and it would be nice to see how well he would do against the other guys, although I don't think he would win it all.

Why?
If he wanted to race at Footlocker, he should've run a qualifying race.

Check. Does he even want to run? Maybe NXN was his sole goal for the end of season. On to track.

Beating a bunch of also rans doesn't mean anything.
I totally agree.. You can't start making exceptions for individuals who didn't run a qualifying race. They all have a choice and he made his.

Top 10.
Too much controversy.
Nike is to blame
This thread is full of stupid.
This is a very specific situation that happens every year.
I believe they used to make exceptions when the race first started tenish years ago.
It is as simple as inviting him. None of the other ten who qualified today would be affected, other than the fact most of them would lose to him.
Invite Allie Ostrander as well.
I don't know if I have ever been more disappointed in letsrun posters in my life. No one would be hurt in this situation, yet you cry.
There have never been exceptions. You qualify or you don't go ....
Also, it's not as if Footlocker is a competitor of Nike. Footlocker is a customer of Nike, so I don't know why they wouldn't work together to make both events better. I think that it's a great idea.
The potential problem is that some big star may decide not to do FL qualifier, thinking that he would win NXN. Now, he wouldn't be going to FL as a result (if he ended up not winning). He would have to be very confident however... Not sure how many overconfident athletes are out there, so it may not be a real problem.

I think your first point is inaccurate. Yes, the companies are not in direct competition with each other. However, the EVENTS which they sponsor are in direct competition with each other.
Having said that, I'd like to see them work together also. As most every fan of the sport would.
I don't see why he shouldn't be given an invite. After all, they used to let the winner of the D3 NCAA XC meet into the D1 race.

No one is crying. What we're saying is he made his choice, knowing he wouldn't be able to run Footlocker.
If he wanted to run at Footlocker, he would've skipped NXN for their qualifying race.
Maybe they should not have sold out he race to Saucony.

You aren't going to get anything done by starting a message board thread and trying to incite the people of LRC. If you really want to help Anderson out (does he even want to go?) then YOU need to do something about it. Maybe start by starting an actual online petition, there are websites for that. If you actually care about this then you should also probably contact whoever is in charge of organizing Foot Locker XC.
Something tells me you don't actually care though, nice useless thread I guess.
