as if Boulder trails weren't crowded enough, now those massive signing classes will be clogging things up even more

This is absolutely bonkers if true, for multiple reasons:

1. He has not developed anybody thus far at Tennessee and, besides Nuguse (generational talent) and Jacobs, who did he develop at ND?

2. His character has been dragged thru the mud on LRC this entire summer and UT has had, by my count, at least 6 of last year's freshmen plus 2 of last year's sophs transfer out (with Abdalla in the portal to boot)

3. UT's incoming class is excellent, they have several impact transfers too, and a few stars from the 2025 HS class have already committed there

It's probably a 50% pay cut, but if he recruits well they should contend for an NCAA title every year.

Would you take a 50% pay cut for a 25% chance to win every year vs a 0% chance to win?

it's all about recruiting. Colorado has some of the finest young mid-distances talent in the country. if he can even snag 25% of the talent Wetmore couldn't they'll be contenders soon.

my only issue with Carlson is the number of transfers who left Tennessee while he was there. that might be from his philosophy of over-recuiting and being left with runners who know they'll never make the Top 5, but definitely something that raises questions.

I'm also curious how many Tennessee runners follow him to Colorado.

1. We know he can recruit, Boulder is an easier sell than Knoxville and South Bend.

2. Boulder is great but is CU? He had funny money SEC accounting and NIL, south bend had the church and academic draw.

3. The new big 12 is hard, OSU, BYU, Iowa State are all really committed to distance. REALLLLLY COMMITTED.

4. Mountain region is brutal. Especially for the women.

It’s funny how these coaches are supposed to be bad and terrible yet they keep getting hired and put into positions that not only pay well but are high value.
