Lol, i thought it was awesome.
Also, stfu calling him bad, this man ran a 2:22 marathon int he past years.. He has a reasonable amount of skill.
2:22 will win you just about any local marathon and place you in most huge marathons.

Seth Wold seems like a total dick.....and trust me, I know a thing or two about dick.
Yes, complete tool. Happens in other sports too.
When some unknown leads a golf major after 1 round you always hear the favorites and fans say what a jag the guy is to be at the top of the leader board. The nerve.
At Wimbledon when a nobody upsets the top seed in the first round they are ripped a new one. NCAA b-ball tourney, same thing for the Cinderella team. Widely despised.
The complainers are a bunch of pansy boys fretting over a non-issue. The guy earned his way into an early stating spot and ran at the front of the pack for a while. He did not impede or bother anybody. OH THE HORROR!

His ability is part of the reason this spoof was wrong. If someone of his talent acts in such a disrespectful manner, why would anyone on the fringe take running seriously.

I heard he farted so loudly that people were frightened.
Technically, there isn't anything wrong with running fast during a foot race, but I think this kind of show is not something that a good sportsman would do.
Respect the true elite runners that are actually racing. I'm not impressed with someone running a quick couple of miles at a pace that thousands of college and amateur runners could have pulled off just to get some attention or live out a fantasy.

I'm a former 13:45 5K runner and collegiate all-american and i have no problem with what this guy did. I think it is awesome in fact and would love to see 5, 10, 20 or 50 people do the same thing. Why not? Who cares if they blow up? Who cares if they cut somebody off? They paid to run the race and they rightfully deserve the chance to run their pace. I loved seeing this guy up there and will be rooting for the next interloper.
Who cares if he ran in the front?!?!?! The end is where you want to lead.
All of you people calling him a tool are such little faggits. You sound so jealous. Who cares? Really?
It's a race. He qualified to be there, paid his fee, and ran "his" race. He lost. Get over it. If you don't like what he did, don't do the same.

You sound like someone who owns a pair of Altra running shoes.

As tasteless as Seth's self aggrandizement is. Altra's actions are even more deplorable. So far two major news organizations in Utah (where Altra is located) KSL and the Deseret News have had articles about this stunt. Deadspin also had a similar article praising Seth. I'm certain that Altra has contacted the news organizations and told them about Seth leading the race in an effort to get free publicity. KSL's article even has a link to Altra's website at the bottom of the article.
I hope this act hurt's Altra's business. They've shown how classless of an organization they are and I hope the running community realizes it.
Altra did NOT contact the news organizations. Myself and other family members did because we are proud of Seth and his performance. Altra is a good company. I am not a runner, far from it, but I wear Altra shoes all the time because they have done wonders for health problems that I have. I will continue to wear them because they are the best shoes I have ever had. I have zero financial benefit in saying this. It is my true and honest opinion. Don't punish Altra for showing one of their guys running a great race.

The Mormons have finally come out and hit the board. Buy Altra and indirectly donate 10% to the Mormons.

Err Kim, the main point of the thread is that he didn't run a great race, he raced and acted like a tool, a narcissistic tool, which is confirmed by others and his FB page etc.
not as good as this classic moment
752 on the right side finished with a speedy time of 3:32:14.
The best that could come of this is Altra disapears. Their shoes suck for running anyway. Seth disapears with them. Funny how some are willing to excuse stupid behavior because of past performance. Doesn't matter what his past running performances are. Fact is he was out there as a publicity hound, which is pretty sad for both him and Altra.
Lighten up folks. I thought it was cool. I also like it when a guy does a doomed breakaway in the Tour de France just to get some TV time.
He didn't cheat or lie about his time. What's wrong with getting out there just for attention for himself and his sponsor? It's not like the others are running to bring back medicine to their dying village.
Dictionary:
Sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
I was entertained. It's a sport.
Basically there are many Altra shoe "ambassadors" on here defending Sean because they get free gear. Mormons are always going to rally around each other, especially when one does something really stupid.
Kim, what exactly are you proud of? How is sprinting to the front of the race in an attempt to get in front of the camera to impress your ignorant family and Facebook friends something to be proud of?
I think it's annoying when any non-elite races to the front of a major race to get some camera time. However, I wouldn't have been as annoyed as I am if Seth hadn't been bragging all over Facebook and to any media outlet that will listed about how great of an achievement this is.
There are many more stories about the Boston marathon that should be in the news; especially considering the events that happened last year. This story definately deserves no attention, and Altra should be ashamed that they are endorsing such tasteless behavior.
