Tool That Lead the Boston Marathon

Well it certainly looks like he did it for the recognition. A photo of himself leading the marathon is currently his profile picture and he has multiple posts proclaiming his greatness for running with the leaders.

Ok, I changed my mind on this. Looks like Hall is checking out his shoes in his FB profile pic! Genius promotion.

I believe that races should start at the same time. No separation of elite from the rest. If they are elite, they can beat the crowd.

Ok, regardless if he thought he could run 2:08 I believe he has the right to do whatever he wants in term of his racing. If he gets some TV time hell yeah to him. I'm impressed. If he is a rep for a company then this is a great move...he should get a bonus for the free pub the company is getting. What a badass. I checked his FB and think he is truly a cool dude

I laughed out loud when the top post of his FB page brought up the fact that he hold the course record for the Ogden Marathon. I wonder if he will post this thread to his FB.

Obviously he has the right to do that if he wants to. Doesn't mean he's not a huge douche though.

His Ogden record is 2:23 on a easy downhill course. Surely someone can show up and break it next month. Like $1500 for first place. Hell, bring in the Kenyans.

I will NEVER consider buying an Altra product. Having one of their co-foudners put on an Altra jersey and sprint to the front of the marathon for a couple of miles to get some free publicity is pathetic.

If they want some publicity, throw some money at real elites, or major events.

Yes. His pace at the start of races might be stupid as heck, but that might just be how he runs. My coach always preached getting out in front at the start to avoid getting boxed in with the lesser runners. It was not the best strategy, but it is what he knew.

I think it is cool to be able to run with the elites for a few miles, so I have to say I envy the guy for his talent and training. If you have the skills to run with them for a while, why not try to see how long you can do it. Maybe they can pull you to a PR.

However, it IS a douche move to promote it himself. It is better for someone's friend to have posted it and tagged him, but only if he did not put said friend up to it.
