I always like the way Gidey approaches distance races. So much more sensible than people going out at bizarre way too overly ambitious paces and dying in the late stages. Also, her form is just absolute poetry in motion.

Very intrigued to see how Milkesa Mengesha fares in his debut. 22 years old, 12:58/27:00 PRs, and looked great running 58:58 to win the Copenhagen half.
19 runners through the half at 1:01:xx. That used to win world championships.
Currently 2:14.40, but getting faster. Hope that missed bottle at 5k doesn't come back to haunt her
67:18 for Gidey and Beriso. They just ran 15:47 for 15k to 20k, which is the first 5k split under WR pace (15:53). Everything going to plan so far for Gidey. She's never raced beyond the half before, so every step now is uncharted territory for her.

That's 2:14:40 overall pace

She always looks like she is running downhill, almost gliding. 🛷
Gidey is showing what super shoes, super talent and super PEDs can do. She will never come close to the 2:09 that Ghostnl suggested. Probably a 2:14-2:15 is her limit.

Glideying.
Great video, massive tracker fail, some heads are going to roll!
Men's pack finally cracking a little bit, but still ~10 there. Love how Tamirat Tola always looks like he's in a coma until about 35k.
Good luck to Tola, but he needs to let someone else do the work. Yikes.
The Brit speakers on my TV broadcast (Viasat) need to work on their diction.
Swallowing their syllables, dropping the Rs.
"The wunnews aw approaching the finipf" "Twaining gwoup"
Also sound like they are shouting into their mics, generating tonnes of static noise

Yeah I’m peeved to not see a 25k split. Fingers crossed we’ll get the 30k…
Just eyeballing Tola passed the 29km sign around 1:24:45 so still right around 2:03:19 pace

And on cue it’s updated. 2:14:22 pace through 25k for women! Closing down quickly on WR tempo.

Men at 25k were on a 2:03:26 pace
Nice, a 15:32
~1:27:38 at 30k for the men
Is Tola going to pull a Wanjiru? Or will he be eaten up? I am betting he finishes third or so....
