Meant to say - Changes things for US women’s steeple trials****
Broke her ankle on the water jump in Shanghai
feel horrible for her. this was gong to be her final Olympics. i can't imagine what she's going thru after training for this the past 4 years. running is a cruel sport.
wishing her a speedy recovery.

And this is why the steeple is the event for people not fast enough to make it in the 1500 or 5000. You don't want them to get hurt

Oh wow, you're on here like all the time, huh?
Always funny where people say: "I see you here all the time, you must live here" without a single brain cell triggering the fact that they would have to be here also to know that.
If you keep seeing me here responding to your comments, it means you are here commenting.
Damn daddy
So who we think for US team? Wayment.. Gear.. freirichs… markezich? Jennings just dropped a solid run…
seems like it’ll be an interesting race
and you guys all called her a wimp for DNF.

I feel bad for her but she wasn't going to be competitive in Paris anyway. That event has evolved. Chepkoech knows her only chance is to break Yavi. Therefore there aren't going to be any tactical sit and kick races. Chepkoech is her own pacer and it's just a matter of who is wiling to go with her. Coburn immediately dropped back in Shanghai, long before the injury.
To her credit Coburn took advantage of her absolute prime in Rio and London a year later.
In many ways this makes the trials more interesting. Instead of somebody hanging on at the end of their career there is a chance for an up and comer. I hope the field isn't so pathetic that they allow Gear to steal it again. Nothing against her but that late closing style is totally irrelevant at international level. You are off the screen immediately and never get back into the screen.
A gut wrenching outcome. So heartbroken for her after all she's been through.

At least now we know why she was a dnf.
Put a fork in her, she's done.

Yeah, and no one competitive on the world stage.
