28 second win today at NXN. Absolutely dominant! And with a faceplant!

I was very impressed by her. Wow.
Remember, she won the Co meet by 85 seconds and the girl she beat in that meet was 3rd today.
Quick race recap is here:
She only started running a year ago. Had no idea she could run fast.
I know nothing about Oakley - just what I learned from the LetsRun preview. Soccer background like Lipari, Rainsberger,...yes? These Hasay, Cain, Cuffe, Effraimson, Baxter, Cranny, Rainsberger, & now Oakley, Ping types keep coming at us with such an increase in frequency. Makes it exciting for fans of the sport for sure. And loved seeing the 'team' concept in such plain view today.
I had never seen her run until today.
My first thought - we have another Molly Huddle. After a few more minutes of running, I am not drawing a comparison, but there are similarities to a young Paula Radcliffe.
I wish her the best.
Strange running style. Doesn't use her hamstrings. At all. Works for cross country, obviously, but painful on the eyes.
Saw her run at state last spring. Hope Cal works for her.

As a 7th grader that 8th grader, 13-year-old Grace Ping, got 14th at NXN. She holds the single age world records for 5k for ages 10, 11, 12 and 13.

It was obvious to me back in May of this year. Here is my post from May 20, 2016:
And she is a junior who just started running last fall for cross-country. This girl may be a big time talent…like Michael Slagowski.
Brie Oakley.
This is a name we will hear a lot in the future.

Funny. The announcer at one point actually said that Annie Oakley was leading the race!!

I was thinking that since we called Michael Slagowski:
Michael "The Big Slagowski"
I was also thinking that a possible name for Brie Oakley could be:
Brie "The Big Cheese" Oakley
What do you think?

Last name, not first.
Brie "Big Tree" Oakley
Sorry but I don't think any girl wants to be called "Big Cheese", "Big Tree", or 'Big' anything. If you guys were well read, you'd have done much better. Back to the drawing board.

No one takes a poster with "clam" in their name seriously. "The Big Clam." Not good.
Looking at Oakley's shuffle, it's hard to believe she is running that fast. Looks like she would be a real good marathoner. She is also very strong...went up the hills like it was nothing.
Horrible form. Just shows what a lot of fitness can achieve despite an awful style.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
