It's up to doubler to determine who will be outed, not you people.

Doubler is getting it from both sides now:
The cheaters and ninnies don't want anyone outed as it is hurtful "shaming".
The other side thinks if Doubler is going to be in the cheater-outer business, he should release all the names, not pick and choose who he feels is worry of public scorn and who should be protected.
But Doubler seems to like what Doubler is doing, so that's probably what Doubler will continue to do.

It certainly reduces his chances of ending up in litigation. Although, he might be wise to go the other direction. Out those who may not be making money off BQing. If he ends up wrongly outing someone who makes money off of running, they would end up having damages. Those not making any money would not have any damages regardless of whether he mistakenly outed them publicly.

What are you talking about? You mean control over himself? You think you should be able to control him?
The guy is a blogger. That's all he is. he doesn't represent anybody or any entity but himself. He writes stories about what he thinks are interesting stories and that others may be interested in. He writes about marathon cheats. Guess what, not all marathon cheats may be very interesting. I would guess those with a larger public profile (lots of social media) are easier to research and therefore easier to write about. I don't cheat at marathons, but I have no social media presence so if he tried to research me, he would have precious little to say. So he puts in the time and writes about the ones that he thinks are interesting - guess what - he's allowed to write about whatever he wants.
Have you ever read a blog? What if I started a blog about "healthy food". I then post a story about the health benefits of broccoli. You have a spinach farm. Can you demand I also write a stories about all other vegetables so that all vegetables are treated fairly by me? That I must specifically write about spinach too? What if I only find broccoli interesting? Do you honestly believe you can control me so that my blog doesn't create an unfair advantage for the broccoli industry?
You should be more concerned with why you support a guy who may well be a cheater. Go get mad at Marlon. Don't shoot the messenger.

If only Doubler had a blog where he could write a long and reasonable explanation of his decisions.

He does.
However, every time he writes writes something on his blog he runs over here and starts a new thread about it.

Jesus wept. Everyone who makes sense is not Doubler. I am not Doubler. I'm the guy who thinks Boston is a marathon to be avoided. But I like human interest storied and I like stories about cheating. I especially like the long expose done by the New Yorker on Kip (link below). You should email Mark Singer and ask why he only wrote a story about Kip. Who controls Mr. Singer? Someone needs to - you should control him and make him expose all marathon cheats. It's so arbitrary. Why was this allowed to happen? Shift your outrage to this guy.

Only children on Letsrun think the world is so binary. their logic "If you criticize Derek that means you must support Marlon and Gia." News flash, you can despise the cheaters and still questions Derek's methods.
Derek seems to think that he's been appointed some spokesperson for the cheating movement., he promoted an article to RW. My sources say that he went to RW not the other way around.
Again, don't be so foolish. I'm not telling Derek what to do. But I'm saying that I find his methods questionable. I don't like the arbitrary nature of what he posts. I don't take his efforts seriously (as he is asking RDs to take them seriously). He often says one thing and does another.
If he is really just telling interesting stories than he is a fraud. Because he has said multiple times that he wants to help deter cheaters and clean up the hobby joggers. So if he's saying one thing and doing another - is that al that different from Gia or Marlon. Let me answer - No.
Not to mention he claims "Visitors" to his blog when he actually means page views - that is dishonest. some might say even cheating.

Somewhere along the way you unfortunately heard a term which you thought sounded intelligent, and like all those with limited abilities, you now over use that term in an attempt to appear smarter than you really are. Part of it is likely self delusion. I say unfortunately because clearly you don't wish to expose your stupidity yet in your attempt to appear intelligent you end up announcing your stupidity in your very first sentence. Well, in fairness, your posts continue to make no sense, so hiding your stupidity was likely never going to happen, but I would still recommend you ditch the word binary for awhile.
Speaking of your overt stupidity - if you review my post, wherein does it say that I am on "Derek's side" or otherwise approve of what he is doing? You are the one who is creating the misconception that one either has to be on one side or the other. I was pointing out the (ongoing) flaws in your thinking about Derek and what he may or may not be allowed to write. I characterized him, correctly, as a blogger. In my world that is certainly not high praise.
You come off obsessed with finding fault in Derek and his blog. Your motivations for that seem very obvious. Not binary, just obvious.
Derek seems to think that he's been appointed some spokesperson for the cheating movement., he promoted an article to RW. My sources say that he went to RW not the other way around.
You don't have sources. You make something up - and just in case you are wrong, you can blame it on "sources".
Now go away.
http://i.imgur.com/TqPgJ5t.pngThis thread has gone off course. It's not about Doubler. It should be all about this Marlon dude who cheated for his BQ and can't make up his mind about what age to put down on his race applications.
Marlon is a cheater and needs to be DQ'd.

"My sources", lol. well played, doubler.
Marlon's fluid age makes me wonder about another potential way to cheat into Boston: lie about your age.
What's to stop, for example, a 38 year old guy from signing up for a qualifying race as a 45 year old and getting an extra 15 minutes added to their BQ time? Then signing up for Boston with this same age.
I'm thinking that we had to show ID at the Boston marathon expo but I'm thinking that was just to confirm your identity, not verify age.

Someone emailed me on that possibility today actually. It would be fairly easy for me to check. I have historical results from all marathons from 2014-2016 (all marathons from the qualifying window). I can match up name/city/age data from Boston against name/city age data from the other races and find discrepancies. Would have to weed through to confirm, but may be interesting to look at.

A true conundrum. Mike Rossi is now torn between his vanity about getting old and his desire to run Boston to stick it to his hated 12. I bet he overcomes his vanity to run as a 65 year old, to be on the safe side.
