blankenship and g. heath are the two americans in the race. caleb ndiku is the favorite to win
any predictions for blankenship and heath? sub 7:40?
Is Ben True running the 5000 at KBC Heusden Zolder on Saturday? he still needs the Standard at 5000, I know it is a formality, he still has to do it, unless he just wants to do the 10000 at World's.
Is Ndiku all recovered from his spiking? Canova made it seem like today would be the first time he could put a shoe on his foot, let alone win a 3000m.
OP here
I just laughed so freaking hard when i saw that my phone autocorrected Cheserek to Cheesecake.
This is one of the greatest moments of my life

I sincerely hope that your life continues to improve from here on out.
lets stick with cheesecake
OP, I read letsrun by tabbing out several MB threads at once, then reading them later. it took a second but I assumed someone was referencing Ches. finally getting around to reading your thread, and seeing it was an autocorrect fail, just gave me more than a few chuckles, thank you. not quite the "steak and lube" thread, but still on the fringes of the pantheon, well done.
If we can get this nickname "cheesecake" to stick I'll put "forever a loving fan of LRC" on my gravestone!
Much better then "king ches" king? Puh-lease!
he went to school in jersey, so cheesesteak would be better.
Rumor is that people were questioning the funding of his little European vacation.

Yeah, I never understood how he could be going to Europe in the first place. He clearly couldn't pay for it himself and I'm pretty sure its a violation for Oregon to pay for him to go to Europe between seasons and do pro races.
Wrong state, but close.
10/10 for the title.

No, Oregon can pay for it, but that's the exact problem right there
Most collegiate athletes don't do European seasons cause their school has to pay for everything (unless they run unnattached) and it can get quite expensive, keep in mind, this goes out of the athletic fund, which again, keep in mind, track isn't a rev sport so it's most likely coming from funds the basketball/football team made and might depends if the track/XC still has money left for the year
And if they do run unattached, yes Chez would have to pay for all of it and Oregon can't pay for a cent
But I think Chez is running DL London so something happened
Who knows could have been something as simple as a visa problem

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the large Oregon track budget come from donors? If Phil/other Nike donors donate enough to the track team, the budget would very possibly cover sending an athlete to Europe. You can only have 12 and a half scholarships, so where else would that money go? Might as well send Ches off to run fast times.
I could be totally wrong about how the donor system works.
I just saw him earlier this week riding his bike around campus.
Plenty of NJ is in the Philly metro area, but it turns out that St. Benedict's is in Newark, so not even close. However, cheesecake does not make any sense with this guy, while cheesesteak gets a lot closer.
