Willis is a better runner, so it isn't a surprise.
Who is Centro?
How exactly is Willis a better runner and how does his record match up against Centro when the pressure is on a championship meets?

Olympic silver. Thanks.
That's got to hurt.

You're kidding right?

He has run faster than Centro's PR 3 times.
Head to head, the record is Willis 6, Centro 4 although that doesn't count Centro making finals in 2013 and Willis not.

Here's the record at 1500. It's 3-3 in the same race but 4-3 centro if you count 2013 worlds when Centro made finals and Willis didn't in another heat.

Centro has beaten Willis at the last two WCs and the Olympics. Nick Willis has been irrelevant in big meets while Centro has been a contender.
irrelevant since 2011*
LOL Willis cares more about Commonwealth (gold and two bronzes) than the World Champs, and he has an Olympic silver to Centro's Olympic nothing. Oh, and has run faster than Centro's pr multiple times.
Willis is better on PRs alone. He's also a better person and has better hardware.

Big talker who runs at the back of the pack and will never be relevant in a fast race. Widely known as "A-sample."

LOL I care more about my local road race (gold) than Commonwealth and Olympics (far, far from ever qualifying). Ergo I am better than Willis.

Cute. Anyway, Centro may someday be close to Willis' resume, but he isn't now.

good post.
nevertheless, i guess, both are not satisfied with the final. especially willlis. he hesitated too long.
Did you watch their interviews? They both conceded that they did all they could and just had nothing else. Willis even said it had nothing to do with tactics, he just didn't feel like he did in earlier rounds.I would give the edge to Willis due to the Olympic medal and sub 3:30, but for those acting like he's head and shoulders above Centro, I suggest looking within yourselves and asking why you have so much unhealthy hatred for America's top middle distance runner. Matt has two medals to Nick's one and has beaten him in several championship finals. Rojo's all time head to head chart is irrelevant considering it has some Willis wins from when Matt was a younger, weaker runner. The two are very close.
