I don't think he'd reconsider unless he ran 3:55ish. Maybe 3:56 that was close to winning.

Webb ran 3:53 in high school, loads of college kids break 4 or it's equivalent every year.

I don't think he'd reconsider retiring unless he whipped this field or at minimum 95% of it.

Just in Portland there are a handfull of americans who can currently beat him in the mile, then add Eugene, then add the rest of the country. There are just a ton of guys who can run between 3:52 and 4:00 now, and several who can go under 3:52.

Unless he thought he was a 3:4X miler/3:32 1500 runner right now or in the next few months it makes no sense to hang on.

Always thought he could've run a great 3000 or 5000 and that's where his future could go, but it didn't.

But 3:55 would be a better result at this time of the year than anything he's done in some time. I'm not saying that it would mean WEBB'S BACK BABY, I'm just saying I think if he does that, given his prep, he'll likely fancy himself to be a guy that can threaten 3:32-3:33 again.

Wow! Can't believe how many got Webb under 4:00. I'm as big a fan as anyone, but no way does he break 4 minutes.

I have slight advantage from those who have already posted their guess. HE told me he plans to to back stroke the last lap. I give him 6:22

From the gun Webb is in it. Up with the rabbits and leaders. Pace slows through 1200 and Webb pulls away on the final lap for a 3:53 win, same time as his famous high school mile. The crowd goes crazy, he does 3 victory laps and the announcers bring him back out for another round.
