Track has such a fickle fanbase. Every time an athlete or team of athletes don't do particularly well, the solution is to jump ship and switch to a different coach. Then when a team does well, every other athlete needs to jump ship to the coach whose team is doing the best....until they have a down performance then everyone needs to leave said coach.
If Cooper should switch anything up, it's train for the 5k as his primary event. Jerry's a good coach, Ben Thomas is a good coach, Ron Warhurst is a good coach. No athletes need to quit their teams for having slightly underwhelming performances XD this year.

Alicia Monson has the American records at 3000 indoors and 10,000. It's true that she took the 3000i record from a BTC athlete, but the reigning record holder in the 10,000 prior to Alicia was Molly Huddle (though Elise had a close #2 before this year's The Ten). Slaney holds the outdoor 3000 record. While BTC has had many women rewrite the top ten boards at various distances, they haven't/don't exactly own the distance records with the totality you imply.

He should leave. Seriously. It seems like Jerry just completed ignored him. It was not individualized training, he is a different type of runner than Grant and others.
The whole group underachieved. Jerry's new job means he is neglecting the pro athletes.
Cooper don't waste any more of your prime years under a coach that doesn't understand you or listen to you.
This is the common criticism of Jerry. Training is very one size fits all (which is a common critique of college coaches who routinely underachieve) and it seems like he's still trying to fit his new group of round pegs into his square, Chris Solinsky shaped holes. Teare just seems like a guy who benefits from more speed work than the rest of that squad and gets his aerobic strength from the long run. Do what's best for you and your career Gooper and godspeed.

Eh, last year was all Ben. He switched coaches after the injuries and end of season.

I know BTC experimented with less time at altitude possibly hoping to take advantage of their new Eugene facilities. Maybe that correlates to some of the degrees performance?
