Good point. She was 15 seconds off the time and the ACC race would have been a controlled effort saving it for nationals. Just a bad luck. That said, Markevich in particular has been excellent for a while.
Markezich and Maatoug both improved a lot since last season, and ran very well.
2022 ACCs / 2023 Nattys
Markezich 19:29 / 19:10
Tuohy 19:08 / 19:23
Maatoug 19:41 / 19:29
Sam Bush 19:45 / 20:00
Allyson Churchill 20:19 / 19:53
Daphne Lavassas 20:24 /20:08

Lacctic rated some of the championship times faster than ACCs, not sure how that works.
For example - Markezich's 19:10 was rated as 15:05 this year, but Tuohy's 19:08 last year was rated as 15:19.
As good as Markezich is I don't see her running 15:05 anytime soon.

The competition in the different races probably factors into the different ratings.
One reason you won’t see Markezich run a 15:05 anytime soon is because she is a mid-distance athlete. (Likewise wouldn’t expect a 20min 5k hobby-jogger to be able to run a 3:11 marathon “equivalent” without doing a lot of training for the longer distance.)
