Laurie Henes Interview says Katelyn wouldnt want to tell people she’s sick

I haven't attacked any athlete. I've called out some of Tuohy's fans who want to make excuses for her performance. Why not give some credit to her competitors?

Commonsense has nothing to do with athletic performance. We have actual race results.

Her being in great shape and being sick at he meet are nOT mutually exclusive.. Moreover, NO coach in their right mind would advertise that their #1 runner has a cold or is sick.

what? her team won a national title because she gutted it out, starting at the front, falling to 11th as her dreams run away, climbing back to 5th only to end up in the medical tent, and you call her a quitter? a quitter? I think you need to quit being a doofus

Oh my bad. You are right. How dare I think that losing by 13 seconds to a runner she beat by over 30 seconds at Nuttycombe and by 16 seconds at ACC in a kick in the last K race would possibly indicate that Tuohy was suffering from a physical ailment? LOLL. Do the handful of losers who try to manipulate the voting think it bothers me? Nope.

I agree with giving competitor's credit, and there were outstanding performances yesterday. Nevertheless, Tuohy was obviously sick. She threw up at 3k mark, dropped back to 11th, and her coach was heard expressing her surprise at her ability to finish. In interviews, Tuohy's coach indicated that Tuhoy had been sick for the past 36 hours, and Tuohy even sought medical treatment at the medical tent.

As for not mentioning the illness the day before, that's understandable. No coach would disclose information that could provide an advantage to the other teams. Also, mentioning the sickness before the race might have been perceived as making excuses.

If Tuohy was sick yesterday, which it looks to be the case, that performance was incredible.

Rude is what it is. She sat next to two women at a press conference. She was near other athletes for 2 days. She was near reporters. I hate when sick people sit next to me during meetings. I hate when parents send sick kids to school. She has no consideration of her fellow human being. She should have been away from everyone and her coach should have been upfront about it. What if she has strep or covid? Rude behavior but that is typical of her.

KT was not sick. The pressure got to her just like outdoors last year. Henes should just tell the truth.

Proof she was not sick. Did she sound sick at the press conference? Did she carry a barf bag with her?

I have to give Tuohy's fanatical fans credit for shifting the narratve from: "Tuohy had a bad race/choked" to "Katelyn Tuohy defied all odds to heroically her team to victory while practically on her death bed".

NFL players say they're healthy all the time when they're not. If Tuohy didn't want to tell people she was sick before the race, it was probably so she could mentally stay dialed in. Have you ever competes before in your life? Lol You don't go crying to the media when you're sick before your biggest race, why would anyone do that??

She can also still be in the shape of her life and come down with the flu. Are all of you people idiots? Lol

Do you really need someone to explain to you why KT being sick is more notable in the media than somebody sick who finished 200th place?

Oh dear. The excuses part of the career came fast.

She herself never said a word. But it was obvious. She was never in this race. She never even tried to go with Valby and then dropped off the top 4 and back into the pack. Or maybe her coaches, teammates, the photographic evidence, the results, etc are all lying. :)
