I didn’t expect Tuohy to beat anyone that beat her today. Time was 5 seconds faster than any other woman ran in the NCAa ran this year. She moved up very well(probably smart she backed off a little when Alicia started ratcheting). Biggest surprises were her beatin infeld and kelati(doubled) who’ve both run 14:50 low this season!
Minus Natosha Rodgers -who probably does altitude stints - everyone who beat Tuohy, lives and train at altitude. I think she is gonna be a force when she graduates college and gets up there. There’s no reason for her to rush and this was definitely a better way to end her season than NCAAs.
- Ed Eyestone (one of the few former elites who is a really good coach - see Ward, Mantz and now Rooks? WTF? He's a 4:11 miler and won the steeple with a world class time.)
- Alistair Craig (also a former elite who's given Rogers structure to do what she did. Potential was there, but needed this coaching. Puma!)
- Scott Simmons (has had Steeplers in the US medals every year. Every year. And usually more than one. Oh, and Paul Chelimo)
- Terrance Mahon (why doesn't Hoka NAZ or Atlanta or some group get this guy?)
- Culpepper (NAZ is stupid not to keep him. Really? NAZ. After over a decade of Hoka $$, NAZ has never, NEVER, put anyone on a US team that wasn't XC or marathon.)
Rai Benjamin had the most dominant performances of the meet. He jogged it in for the final as well as the prelims. He was like 20 meters ahead in every race.

????? The US sends 4 whether the champion competes or not. For example, the top 4 go in the shot put, where wild card holder Ryan Crouser competed. If Holloway had run the hurdles and won, the next 3 would go as well.

Maybe someone can correct confirm this but I do recall now he had ankle(?) issues at one point? Maybe he can't handle the intense speed on the curve in the 200 (the 400 being slower maybe stresses his legs less)?
This is right and the primary reason for him switching to the 100. His ankles are shot.
There was a recent podcast with Fred, by some guy who I think is in the UK. I can't find it now should have bookmarked it. In the podcast Fred said he ran a 100m race on a broken ankle and surprised himself that he won.
Wouldn't TEAM USA still need Steiner on either the 4x100 or 4x400 for the prelims? Not like Sha'cari can run her 100s, 200s, plus the the prelims on the 4x100. Same with the 4x400 for the other athletes.
There are a couple Sweat Elite videos with her. She’s listed as a Hansons/Brooks athlete. The one video she was training on her own with some input from her old high school coach.
Dude, she's sponsored by Puma and trains with Fiona O'Keefe. They may be in Boulder but I think they train mostly in New Mexico.
