Maybe someone can correct confirm this but I do recall now he had ankle(?) issues at one point? Maybe he can't handle the intense speed on the curve in the 200 (the 400 being slower maybe stresses his legs less)?
Well, Abby Steiner wasn't in the final of the 100 or 400 so she isn't in the relay pool.
Her only other way to run the relays is to make the team in another event, which she didn't do.
Her only chance now is for one of the top 3 women in the 200 to decline their spot.
Correct me if im wrong but Gabby Thomas was named to the relay pool last year and she didn’t run the 100m only the 200m.
I thought she wasn't in the 2022 WC 4x1 relay pool as she was still recovering from her hamstring tear, but she was listed, per this USATF website. But she ended up not racing.

This is right and the primary reason for him switching to the 100. His ankles are shot.
