Kimetto now has the world record and three major marathon wins.
But he has never beaten Meb Keflezighi. Meb always wins.

The 2:00 barrier will only be broken if the marathon were ever to be run on a track, which of course it won't.

Raises the question of what if the very top runners (DK/WK/EM) run Dubai, or a similar course - no turns, flat, perfect weather (I am not saying Dubai has all these attributes, but it comes close).
Densimo's 2:06:50 stood for 10 years and many a great runner took at crack at it. I honestly thought I'd never see sub 2:05 in my lifetime. Now it's under 2:03. Unbelievable.

Did anybody see what happened at the 1:54.04-1:54.08 point,
Kimetto slaps his left cheek and says something like,

Other note -
Mutai, comes out as snot when Kimetto tries to congratulate him.
