El Bakkali was clearly the best in a mad sprint as his 8:25 winning time was easily the slowest ever at Worlds. Evan Jager was top American in 6th.

Letesenbet Gidey now has a gold medal to go with her 2 world records as she won a super tight women's 10,000m where the top three were separated by .13. But should she have been DQd? Plus all three American women advanced in the steeple and Karsten Warholm showed he's healthy. In the 110h, Devon Allen returned to action as Grant Holloway ran fast but Daneil Roberts bombed out.

Coburn won her 7th straight US title as she and Frerichs went 1-2 for the fifth straight year. Falland was in third with two laps to go and fell, and though she was third again at the bell, Constien -- who works a full-time job -- was too strong over the last lap.
