Jacobs and some others who had placed prominently in the 10,000 m also took part in the 5000 m but did not recover as well as one would have thought which is surprising in the super shoes era. The guy who finished last from Binghamton is a 1336 guy, as well as 340 in the 1500.
We heard from Sean Carlson - Jacob's coach - that his ankle swelled up to golf ball size after the 10k as he fell on the rail.
