Looks like a better version of what rupp wears. What is your take on it? Placebo or real difference?

Like compression socks, this is unnecessary added weight.
Compression socks actually help me
Tried them 30 years ago. Never did a thing for me.

Make no mistake: if you think they help, then they help.

I know they help me b/c I've done races without them and suffered from shin splints that inhibited my performance. Then I have raced with them in the same time frame and done well with less pain. They don't make everything hunky dory but they help me reduce the pain by a little bit and definitely give me a confidence boost too. I never race without them now. Definitely need to make sure you are wearing the right size. If they aren't a pain in the ass to put on, then they're not tight enough.
I have extremely poor air flow through my nose and they help immensely. Feels markedly better. Lots of guys wear them. Even if you want to say it's a placebo (which I don't believe it is), the placebo effect is very real and worth exploiting if possible.
How are these any different than regular nasal strips? Do they open the nasal passage wider than a traditional nose strip?
Although it is not recommended or legal, snorting cocaine for some time will really open up your nasal passages.

I just meant nose strips in general. I don't see how they could be better unless they're just more rigid with better glue, but I just wear two.
The thing is, if you are smart enough to understand that these things don't work, there won't be any placebo effect. That's why sometimes dumb folks have an advantage.
All the clinical studies I could find show that nasal strips do nothing to enhance performance. I could see how they would help in motorcycle racing or skiing if the goggles were closing your nasal passages.
Is there some taxing cardiovascular stress I'm unaware of in riding a gas powered motorcycle?

“Gas powered”?
There are other details you left out: spark plugs, rubber tires, etc.
If you open the link it shows that people use it for cycling and running and stuff. I think they are stiff plastic pieces with magnets. Then they have little magnet pieces you glue to your nose. Looks like it opens you nose up much more than regular nasal strips.
The first ones came out in 1992 and were very popular in the 90s. Haven't seen them much lately, but some people find them useful.

Marketing gimmick. Wish I had bought stock in it for all the wannabe types that went out and bought them. Then sold my shares before the bottom fell out!
