He is running for a paycheck now. For him todnf in an 8k, come on. But he still has 3 yrs left on that Chicago contract that will pay him 250K per year. What happened to his ambition to represent the US?
Okay, that's been decided, he's a damn road whore, yada yada yada. My question is---is now he physically incapable after so many years and great efforts? Everyone gets their 5 or 6 years at the top of their powers---is it time to put a fork in him?
Add a little seasoning and let him cook @ 350 degrees for 1 hour.
You could say about the same for your godamn beloved Radcliff.
Ouch. I'm hurt.
Though I think it is ridiculous to expect him to represent the U.S. as a stipulation of his citizenship, KK really seems to be only innterested in running for a paycheck. I have defended him for a really long time, but the fact that he has made little attempt to really compete and race well kind of turns me off. Does anyone have any reliable information as to whether or not he collected an appearance payment for the shuffle?
However, it is likely that he is unable to make attempts at quality training and racing after his years of very high level marathoning. Those races and the training for them had to take a serious toll on his body. Perhaps it isn't that he doesn't want to race, but rather he just can't anymore.
Thanks for your profound and reasoned response.
However, it is total crap. You do not have a clue.
I met Khalid on Saturday @ the race expo...I told him good luck at London, not knowing that he wasn't running it. He politely told me about his injurys and how he wasn't running. Nice guy, but really short. The picture with him (5'3"-ish) and me (6'4") is pretty funny.
At least he wife finished the race...in about 40 min. Hopefully he'll shut people up for awhile longer after a good Chicago performance this year.
He is still ranking #2 road racer in ths US according to Running Times, so it isn't all bad.
maybe that is why he dropped out. it is all about the ranking. a dnf does not count against you in the RT system. so sell breaks kk to the point where he dnf's and still will be ranked behind him. quite a system.
Who takes the Running Times ranking seriously?

They are a major publication when it comes to running, so probably quite a few people.
Wrong
I take the magazine very seriously. However, the rankings are now and have always been a joke.
You are a wise person.
Magazine Okay.
Rankings - sheer idiocy.
Their not a major running publication? Who is?
Their - possessive pronoun
They are - contraction they're
not to be confused with there.
